NEWT Unit Two - Transfiguration Without Spells
Transfiguration Without Spells Part One (Animagi and Boggarts)
This class will pose as a lesson to minorly introduce the methods of transfiguration without spells, and to introduce the topic with magical creatures. Students will learn about the two most interesting creatures that can go through transfiguration without spells: human animagi, and boggarts. Students will learn about how animagi transfigure very, very much so as if they were casting a spell, but it is nonverbal, wandless, and requires no incantation. However, the basis of animagi have not be discovered, as it is very deep in the roots of magic. Students will learn about how boggarts are theorized to use the same principles of animagi, except also use perfect legilimency. As boggarts are very difficult to study, there will only be theories.
Transfiguration Without Spells Part Two (Potions)
This class will pose as a lesson to teach about potions that cause transfiguration. Students will mainly study the polyjuice potion, and the way a person changes. They will also learn about the effects on ones' self if they are to take the polyjuice potion but put the ingredient of another animal, rather than a human being.
Transfiguration Without Spells Part Three (Magical Objects)
This class will pose as a lesson to teach about magical objects that cause transfiguration. They will have a quick review of potions, and will focus on objects derived from magical creatures such as the invisibility cloak.
Transfiguration Without Spells Part Three Continued (Creation)
This class will pose as a lesson to teach about the creation of magical objects that can induce transfiguration-like effects. There will be many practical portions of this class, such as spells that cause objects to become invisible, and 'storing' magic.
