He couldn't say he was close to the Yaxley boys, especially not to the older of the twins, even though they were in the same house. Kaiden tended to stick around other purebloods solely to give the appearance that all of that mattered to him, mostly for his parents. He and Cronis just didn't have much in common, not to mention the younger boy got annoying when all he could talk about was Anabelle Mulciber.
Don't get him wrong, the girl was pretty, but she wasn't all that. Certainly not enough to require all of the attention of the other Slytherin. Kaiden regretted having told Cronis that he would walk down to the dungeon with him, since they'd both just gotten out of class and Kaiden had told him on an occasion before that he would help him with his charms work.
Most of the walk consisted of Cronis either looking at the ground(or for Anabelle), or of him speaking about the Gryffindor girl like she was some kind of goddess to him.
"Listen, mate. I get it, you like her and it's not my place to judge your preferences or anything. But I really don't care. If you like her, go tell her or shut it." He'd finally gotten fed up with the babbling of the boy and, admittedly, lashed out. "... Sorry. I didn't mean to do that."
The two were now in front of the entrance to the dungeon and Kaiden stopped Cronis for a moment. "I really don't get your infatuation with her, though. I'd think you'd go after someone else, someone more.. sociable, y'know?" They entered after a moment of talking, Cronis immediately scowling after seeing who was there. Kaiden looked between the other three Slytherin, feeling like he'd missed something.
"Malfoy." Cronis nodded at him, not bothering to greet Cosmo.
Odd.
"Afternoon, gents." Kaiden greeted simply.
