Welcome to Potter’s Army

Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

TEACHERS GUIDE: Read Empty TEACHERS GUIDE: Read

Post by Darren Mon Jan 19, 2009 6:17 am

This is a guide for the teachers on how to teach there classes, read it if u like, you don’t have to though and I doubt most of you will... >.<

NEWT’s, OWL’s and Normal classes

When you make your class, make sure you create three of them, NEWT class, OWL class and normal class. Remember not to study the same subject in all 3 classes, make it different. NEWT classes are for 6-7th years, so they will study very hard subjects. OWL classes are for 5th years so they will be studying slightly difficult subjects. Normal classes are for 1-4th years, they will study basic subjects. For example the subjects on a Defense against the Dark Arts Class would be:

NEWT class: The Patronus Charm
OWL classes: The Shield Charm
Normal Classes: Expelliarmus

Points

Teachers can give the students house points for good behavior or getting a question right, they can also take away points for bad behavior and being late to class. A maximum of 20 points can be given or taken from a single student. An important thing to note is that house points are awarded and taken away differently to which class it is. For example: A student coming late to normal class would probably not lose any points, a student coming late to OWL might lose 5 points, but a student coming late to NEWT’s would easily lose over 10 points.

Remember, there will be absolutely NO house favoritism here. After your class ends, post the points at the Hour Glass!

Detentions

Detentions can be given to a student if he is very late to class, not having done the homework or is behaving badly. They can also be given for dueling or fighting anywhere in the school, or being in an out of bounds area.

Offices

Make sure you make your office at the class section. Students will come here for help or if they had missed a class and would like to catch up.
