NEWT Care of Magical Creatures: Lesson 1

Professor Shacklebolt stood at the grounds near the forest, waiting for his class to come.

" Hello Professor. " Addy said politely walking into the classroom. She then sat down and waited for classmates to arrive.

Darren entered the grounds, liking the fresh air after a whole day of staying inside. Spotting the teacher standing at the edge of the forbidden forest, he walked boredly in that direction. Care of Magical Creatures was often fun, but quite useles..

Sophia walked into grounds as the breeze rustled through her hair and her Gryffindor robe. As she continued walking she saw Professor Shacklebolt along with Darren and Addy by the forest. "I wonder if were going in the forest?"Sophia asked herself as she walked up towards them. "Hello Professor!"said Sophia as she stood beside Darren. "Hey Darren."said Sophia as she waited for more students to show up.

Mariana got out of Hogwarts putting cloak from her robes on her shoulders since it was a bit chilly.She saw the gang pulling together so she walked down the paddock to where everyone was: "Good Day Professor!" she said polite before she added: "Hey gang/" to her friends.

“Hello everyone. Welcome to your first Care of Magical Creatures class of the term” the professor said smiling, glad people had come to his first lesson. “Today, we will be reviewing what we have learned last year, and tackling Acromantula’s in the forest later on.” The professor flicked his wand, and his words appeared in midair, floating. “So, who knows what Acromantula’s are?”

Sophia raised her hand as she waited for Professor Shacklebolt to call on her. Care of Magical Creatures was one of her favorite classes because she loved animals especially the magical ones.Although there were just some Magical Creatures that she rather not look or touched it was still one of her favorite classes.

Mariana knew Soph will give the answer so she didn't bother raising her hand even if she knew the answer.

"Yes?" the Headmaster said, pointing to Soph.

Sophia nodded.
"Acromantulas are a species of giant spiders native to the rainforests of Southeast Asia, particularly Borneo.
Acromantulas are believed to be a wizard-bred species, designed to
guard dwellings or treasure hoardes, and were first created before the Ban on Experimental Breeding in They have a taste for human flesh.


Acromantulas have eight eyes, are highly intelligent and capable of
human speech. They are typically covered in thick black hair, with a
legspan that can reach up to fifteen feet. They possess a set of giant
fangs which they use to eat live prey of mammals or their own dead kin.
The pincers produce a clicking sound when the beast is agitated or
excited. These fangs contain highly toxic venom valued at 100 Galleonsa pint, which is even potent for a short time after death. The eggs are Class A Non-Tradeable Material
The female is usually larger than the male, and can lay up to
one hundred soft, wide, beach ball-sized eggs at a time. They usually
hatch in six to eight weeks.

Acromantulas tend to reside in jungles and heavily forested areas, and their webs are large and dome-shaped."said Sophia as she breathed at last.
