Broken, but won't ask for help

This is Lucien. He's 17, but not strictly a graduate. He went to Durmstrang for two years before he was sold (by his parents!) to a Muggle family that made him illegally do their bidding with magic. He learned things over the years, because he had to, but he's definitely way behind. And if he gets into a fight, he won't be able to defend himself... like, at all. He gets too anxious and can't cast anything.

Anyway, a year ago he was rescued by Robert Lupin and his colleagues and hidden away in one of Robert's safehouses. Lucien hates having to genuinely interact with people because he's sure they're going to use or hurt him as pretty much everybody else has. But, if given the chance, he could go either way, faction-wise. He could easily be convinced that Muggles are horrid and that he should join the DEs. Or, he could fight for those who are weak like him, and join the Order.

Basically, he's open to whatever. Crime, considering he has like.. no money to his name. He works at Slug and Jiggers Apothecary as a clerk, though he's kind of a bad one. They probably feel too bad to fire him, but he's never asked. He could probably end up owing someone if he got into drugs or gambling and it went wrong.

Lucien's a blank slate, which is kind of exciting. Mainly, he needs people who think they know what's best for him, so they can influence him however they want. Maybe someone to genuinely care and want to help him, given he's now uncertain whether or not he's ever loved anyone or been loved, himself. Even having a best friend would be phenomenally unusual for him.

Whatever you need for your plots, let me know and we'll see if he fits!

Andrew. Andrew needs a best mate. And since Lucien already knows at least a couple of Robert's secrets, Andrew would be able to get out of his own shell a little with Lucien. Just sayin'

True! I feel like Lucien would be quite prickly at first, tbf. But that might lead to some spectacular banter if Andrew fights back XD

Pfft. Andrew? No problem. Andrew's a teenager--he's got all kinds of fighting back skills. Uses most of them on Robert--or tries.

I'd really kind of love to see him come round the safe house and try to convince Lucien to, like, have fun XD If he's persistent, it would work eventually.

I'd also really like to see Robert or Brian try to convince Lucien to help Oliver or someone else at the safe house, even if it's an NPC. Like, because they think he's being too antisocial or whatever reason. Could be rather charming.

you read my mind. rofl. since he's working with Michael, maybe he's doing his ministry apprenticeship and Michael is teaching him how to copy one of his portkeys. What if the key Michael randomly chooses is the one to the same safe house Lucien is at? it might take Robert a minute to get over being irked with Andrew since it is supposed to be a well guarded secret as to who his guardian is, but, knowing Andrew, he's probably sick of having to keep it a secret since he certainly does consider himself a little kid who needs that sort of sheltering anymore.

That could work. Gryffindor that he is, Andrew might be curious enough to try and get Lucien to let him in on stuff, you think? Maybe Lucien is training with Robert or somebody when Andrew pops in and scares them XD

definitely. I have these visuals of kate periodically sending baskets of homemade bread or preserves, or something otherwise a bit maternal and Andrew being a little cheesed by it--ie, "Why is my mother sending you things? Who the heck are you, anyway?"

If Lucien is Andrew's best mate, then he might know Clytemnestra, since she's Andrew's fake girlfriend? That could be fun.

@Sel - I mean, maybe? I don't think he's the sort to put any real effort into being a rebel. It's more like he avoids getting involved in things. If they managed to get him to adventure with them, that would be impressive. But it'd be worth a try, certainly.
