Character's Legal Name: Rainier White
Age: 14
Hogwarts House: Gryffindor
Blood Type: Halfblood
Species: Human
Face claim: Will Higginson
APPEARANCE | ...Aunt Petunia often said that Dudley looked like a baby angel - Harry often said that Dudley looked like a pig in a wig |
Rainier is a pale teenager with a sharp chin and piercing brown eyes. His eyes are almond shaped. He has black hair that is kept short, as he hates hair getting into his eyes. He has a slender build as a result of exercising regularly. His fingers are long and slim. As a result, he is often told by his mother to learn the piano.
The Gryffindor prefers formal causal wear. He generally wears a pair of sneakers on a regular school day. He prefers to wear jeans due to them being comfortable. As a Hogwarts student, he wears his black wizarding robes to class. However, when not in class, he can be seen in a hoodie (during the hotter seasons) or a overcoat/blazer (during the colder seasons). He has a preference for t-shirts, but can be seen in cardigans or dress shirts. He doesn't like polyester and tries to stay away from the material (he finds it itchy).
He has a perpetual serious face, even when he is truly happy. In fact, some people find his laughter weird as it doesn't sound very nature compared to other people. His gaze is generally sharp and piercing, even if Rainier is not really focusing on the other person. Because of this, the boy may be seen as intimidating even if he is doing nothing harmful.
PERSONALITY | ......If only the hat had mentioned a house for people who felt a bit queasy, that would have been the one for him |
Rainier is a boy of few words. He has trouble expressing his emotions. That is due to the fact that he sometimes doesn't understand what he is feeling. His mind takes a while to process the emotions he is experiencing. Due to this trait, Rainier is sometimes standoffish and has a tendency to observe other people. For him, observing other people is a way to understand how to act more "human". Unfortunately, he does not always copy the best example nor is he always correct in his dedications on why someone did something.
He is very brave, the trait famous of his house. Even if he is scared of something, Rainier will do it if it means helping someone. In that sense, he is a very kind person. However, despite willing to go out of his way to help someone, he still has trouble communicating. He prefers to keep his responses short and will utter out a simple "yes" or "no" whenever it is possible.
He is very intelligent. He picks up ideas very quickly and integrates them into his everyday lifestyle. However, he lacks focus sometimes. He has trouble paying attention in class whenever the subject is "boring". He also doesn't understand why other students may have to "try hard" in an "easy" subject so he may appear condescending due to his lack of empathy.
HISTORY | ..................Hey! My eyes aren't 'glistening with the ghosts of my past'! |
Early Years: Rainier grew up as a single child in a single household. He was raised by his mother, who was a single mother who had gotten pregnant with Rainier at the age of 16. His mother was kicked out of her household. The two lived in a small two-room flat for most of Rainier's life. As such, the child grew up to be extremely protective of his mother.
Hogwarts Years:
The first year was a bit rough for Rainier, who had trouble from being separated from his mother. He initially sent her letters every day. He was sorted in Gryffindor, which he sort of viewed as a good thing. He still kept mostly to himself. During this year, Rainier did not really study. He was too busy exploring the castle.
In his second year, Rainier tried out Quidditch which he found as entertaining, but not enough for him to spend too much time. Instead the Gryffindor actually began studying more, as advised by his mother. His grades got better and he realized he could actually get good grades if he actually put in the effort to learn.
In this third year, Rainier grew more studious and spent more of his time in the library. His favorite subject was quickly becoming Defense Against the Dark Arts, which he found to be useful. His new goal was to become an Auror after he grew up. Knowing that it would be hard to do so unless he actually paid attention in class, the boy decided that he could study for some more...
