GENERAL APPEARANCE: Nova is a 15 year old girl with brown red hair and bright hazel eyes. She has a slim figure and is about 5'3. She has dimples which show only when she is laughing really hard. She tends to wear baggy clothes and sweats to hide her body for fear of rejection from others.

EARLY YEARS:Early years
Nova had an unhappy childhood. She was abused by her father and used in many ways. Her father would ignore and neglect her. He would sometimes hit her which has caused trauma for Nova in her later years.

Because of all the abuse in her past, She grew up afraid of men and of adults in general. She was always afraid until she turned 11. Thats when her powers came out and she felt like she could finally stand up for herself. The fact that she had powers built a new bravery in her that she needed to boost her confidence.

One day, she was being ignored by her father and she had gotten so angry and afraid, he began floating in the air and was thrown out the window of her bedroom on the second story of their home. She didnt understand what had happened, she thought she was a freak.

Her parents had no idea of what she could do or what she was because they were muggles. The next day, she recieved a visit from the head master of Hogwarts who explained her powers and just what she was.

HOGWARTS YEARS:
Nova was so excited to learn about her powers because it ensured her father would never put a hand on her again and it got her away from him during the school year. When she got to school, she dove into her studies because she kept wanting to learn more and more.

Novas favorite subject was charms since it involved all kinds of magic. She loved the idea of being able to make thinfs float or turn a key into a bunny. It all fascinsted her so much. She also loved Care of Magical Creatures. Her favorite Creature is the Unicorn because it is so fragile and rare.

Sydney, did you say you were having trouble editing? Because typically I believe we aim for about a paragraph on description. That way you can include what they like to wear and how people perceive them and things like that. Would you mind adding a bit in there?

Also, if you could, fix the formatting of the thread title to LAST NAME, First Name. That would be helpful for people searching for your character or looking through the accepted applications folders in the forum.

On a more serious note, the abuse in her backstory needs to be explained if you want it accepted. Was he ignoring her? Typically themes like physical or sexual abuse are avoided on the site so that those who experienced those things can go without seeing them while writing with us. Neglect or something like her father forcing her to study up on things all the time instead of having friends or things more along those lines would be more appropriate. I do believe that if he was mean to her, either from ignoring or being exceptionally critical, she could still have that intense fear/dislike towards him.

I like the idea of the Headmaster coming to visit her, but that is something you ought to discuss with Eli, whose character Theo has been the Headmaster for quite some time. I know she's 15 now but if you say a Hogwarts Staff member came to explain it, then if Theodore isn't the kind to do that, you could always find another teacher who could be like a mentor to Nova.

Thoughts on her as a Gryffindor? If you really want her in Slytherin maybe add in something about ambition. I know you mentioned she was determined but her personality reads, to me, as a Hufflepuff first, then a Gryffindor. The hat does take preference into account somewhat, though, so let me know if Gryffindor works or if you've decided to edit that.

I edited it. And I prefer her to be Gryffindor so it can play into her personality later on because she is gonna become braver

That works! The only other thing is that we can't accept a character named Emma Watson. It's too close to the actual personality from the film, so if you could just edit that I can get her sorted!

Do be careful with the violence in her past, but if it was rare and the extreme, I think it's alright. Just be wary of how you portray that in your posts.
