It had been quite a morning already, and Declan hadn't even been into work yet. From an alarm that didn't go off to lacking the time to make or eat anything for breakfast. Everything he had accomplished that morning felt like a Pyrrhic victory. No matter how much he got done, he felt like he would never get through the morning, much less the day.
But there were some good things, too. Dom had come back into his life and that had done a great deal to brighten his mood despite everything. The only big negative, really, was that he had an earlier morning than usual. It was that time of the month where he and Angelique had to go over expenses and orders that needed to be made to keep their stock full.
When he walked in, trying not to look as though he wanted to crawl back into bed and get a few more hours in, she was already there and offering him coffee. He sank into his chair at their usual table, giving her a grateful smile. "Thank Merlin for you, love," he expressed, reaching for his mug. "It's been a hell of a morning."
Shaking his head, Declan knew that they needed to get to work. He didn't doubt that things were going fairly well; the Leaky had survived for literal ages, so that was unlikely to change too dramatically. "How have you been, before we start?"
