MAUDE JEANINE PRICHARD______________________________________________________________________________________

INTRODUCTION------------------------------------------------------------
NICKNAMES/ALIAS: None yet. She's got sort of pet names from her parents but she doesn't have a proper one. She's open to it, though.
AGE: Twenty-three. b. December 2, 2006
ALLEGIANCE: The Order of the Phoenix
-
Wales
Hogwarts
Hufflepuff House/Quidditch Team
The Ministry of Magic
International Department of Games and SportsHOGWARTS HOUSE: Ex-Hufflepuff
WAND: Yew, Dittany Stalk, 10 1/5 inches, Swishy
"Yew wands are among the rarer kinds, and their ideal matches are likewise unusual, and occasionally notorious. The wand of yew is reputed to endow its possessor with the power of life and death, which might, of course, be said of all wands; and yet yew retains a particularly dark and fearsome reputation in the spheres of duelling and all curses. However, it is untrue to say (as those unlearned in wandlore often do) that those who use yew wands are more likely to be attracted to the Dark Arts than another. The witch or wizard best suited to a yew wand might equally prove a fierce protector of others. Wands hewn from these most long-lived trees have been found in the possession of heroes quite as often as of villains. Where wizards have been buried with wands of yew, the wand generally sprouts into a tree guarding the dead owner’s grave. What is certain, in my experience, is that the yew wand never chooses either a mediocre or a timid owner."PLAY BY: Hayley Atwell

APPEARANCE
------------------------------------------------------------
GENERAL APPEARANCE: It is rather unlikely that two people will think that Maude looks the same. She dyes her hair frequently between proper blonde , dishwater blonde, and her natural brunette color. Sometimes she'll also go for a more red, auburn color as well. It isn't so much that she doesn't like what she looks like and feels like changing to try and find her "best look." Instead, she just enjoys the element of surprise when she walks in and someone doesn't recognize her right away or compliments her. She also has a strange habit of wearing her hair in different styles regularly, including ones that aren't necessarily suitable to her era. She's a genius on Halloween, aight?
She gets her dark eyes from her mother, she figures. Brown is dominant, anyway, right? (See history) She actually gets them from her biological father. She also is without her father's dimpled-chin, which a child can only receive genetically from their father's side. Gilbert and Iveagh have it, but Maude doesn't. She just hasn't ever put two-and-two together.
Her favorite item of clothing is probably her navy blue scarf that reads "seas the day" over and over, along with her tall black, zip-up boots. Her apartment, though messy, has a place for everything. Books on long shelves above her desk and bed, a closet full of work clothes and a bathroom covered in makeup products. She doesn't care much for eyeshadow, but lipsticks she has loads of - enough to match each of her various hair colors.
She's short, even compared to her brother, perhaps because their father, Aeron, was the tall one between their parents. She's oddly proud of her nose, but don't tease her about it or she'll get quite put out, thank you.
A stranger might describe her as put together, but really her mind is always working at a mile a minute. Everything is interesting to her, and even though it might make her look stupid sometimes, she'll always ask questions and have a curious expression or smile on her face. And yes, she does whiten her teeth. But she probably won't own up to that. She's on television okay? She can't be seen looking off.
Her friends and family, of course, know better. She's rather like Gil when at home. Relaxed, very goofy. Not that she isn't a little silly while commentating games. She's more restricted when writing, of course, but in person she seems very bouncy and is probably called "that funny commentator" by viewers.

LIKES & DISLIKES:+ Compliments. It isn't very nice of her, but she gets a kick out of it.
+ Drama programs, particularly Muggle ones where magic cannot save the day
+ Her father and siblings. She puts the most faith in Gilbert, unaware of the true nature of her brother.
+ Creativity and creative solutions to her problems.
+ Maude has a slight obsession with the Holyhead Harpies. That's probably why she prefers to report for them and act as an announcer for their matches.
+ Kisses on the forehead. She isn't sure why, but it calms her down. It probably comes from the fact that her mother used to do it, even if she won't admit as much.
- Excess amounts of responsibility.
- Thinking too far in the future
- Theory based lessons/subjects/books.
- Justice over mercy
- Reading
- Living alone. If she had a choice, she would want to live with a best friend or, perhaps more likely, a guy. She'd feel safer, but she has also felt a bit more comfortable with guys in her recent years.
GOAL: Her main goal is to maintain her job and to help her father and sister with their money problems. She does have a secret wish to own a Quidditch team someday, though.
PERSONALITY:TYPE: ESFP
Extravert(94%) Sensing(44%) Feeling(53%) Perceiving(56%)
""Where's the party?" ESFPs love people, excitement, telling stories and having fun. The spontaneous, impulsive nature of this type is almost always entertaining. And ESFPs love to entertain -- on stage, at work, and/or at home. Social gatherings are an energy boost to these "people" people.
SPs sometimes think and talk in more of a spider-web approach. Several of my ESFP friends jump from thought to thought in mid-sentence, touching here or there in a manner that's almost incoherent to the listener, but will eventually cover the waterfront by skipping on impulse from one piece of information to another. It's really quite fascinating.
ESFPs are attracted to new ideas, new fashions, new gadgets, new ______. ESFPs love to talk to people about people. Some of the most colorful storytellers are ESFPs. Their down-to-earth, often homespun wit reflects a mischievous benevolence.
Almost every ESFP loves to talk. Some can be identified by the twenty minute conversation required to ask or answer a simple factual question.
This type's prime directive is to examine the tangible through taste, touch, sight, feeling and hearing. ESFPs' need for new experiences surely results from this function. Feeling gives focus to the collected information, producing the amiable nature of this type. As perceivers, ESFPs do not linger on moral concerns unless it is in service of a Greater Good and/or a unifying cause. Feeling takes care that playful pokes and pranks do no harm to the victim.
This type seems most successful in deducing patterns and seeing connections only after a thorough examination of the facts (which process appears quite unorganized and haphazard to non-SPs). Although some ESFPs may develop such abilities, the mastery of logic, analysis and abstraction is usually difficult and wearying, and not very much fun."
Greatest Flaw: She doesn't want to accept that anyone could be interested in her, because it means things like trusting someone with her heart, as well as more intimate things she has no interest in yet.
Greatest Weakness: She needs to spend time with people, or she'll get quite downtrodden.
Greatest Assets: Communication Skills and good humor
Vices: She's good at wasting time on pointless things, even though she knows she shouldn't. She also has a thing for drinking too much when out with her best friend or brother.
Deepest Regret: She actually regrets not seeing the truth about her mother sooner. Of course, she doesn't know the whole picture, but she wishes she had seen it coming because then she could have protected her father and sister. She doesn't even realize that she needed to protect Gilbert as well but couldn't.
Biggest Achievement: Realistically, her graduation is the biggest thing she's done so far.
Worst Nightmare: Her mother coming back. She has a feeling that Aeron would take Kayla back at the drop of a hat, and that terrifies her considering how much damage was done the first time.
Recurring Dream: Maude has a dream that seems to follow her around, although that's clearly impossible. She sees herself standing on a stage, giving a speech to young people when it comes to their career hunt. She doesn't feel that she is actually qualified to do such a thing, but the idea of people admiring her or thinking her qualified actually makes her feel really happy.
Worst Insult: If someone speaks against her family, Maude has it out for them. She doesn't usually hold grudges, but striking at something that means so much to her is massively unacceptable.
Beliefs:- Breaking the usual mould is better than doing exactly what is expected. And it's often a lot more fun.
- It is better to act right away and ask forgiveness later. Equally, acting based on feelings is her go-to plan because it means that her heart is in the right place and people can't hate her for it. Probably.
- It is also better to be straightforward about your feelings, because it will spare worst heartache later for the other person. People who don't do the same for her in return will be spurned.
- Maude sympathizes with everyone's plights, if only because she has gone through a lot, and believes that everyone's story deserves to be heard.
Facts:- Maude is often a bit late to appointments with friends, but never late to work. She's terrified that Henry would use it as his excuse to fire her. Secretly, though, he's her favorite. That's probably why she bugs him so much. She would be really sad if she disappointed him.
- If she could be anyone else in the world, she would be Melissa Hayes. She's never met the woman, but trading places with her would mean adventure, someone who works through things to stay with her, and children. All without having to go through the frightening bits of romance.
- She'll never admit that
- If she ever found out about Gilbert's habits and his affiliation with the DEs, she would be heartbroken.
- It takes very little to get her excited. In fact, it takes almost nothing.
Limitations: (more for my use later)
- Maude can't have as much of a temper, because Gilbert has a short fuse.
- She also can't be as sarcastic as Keiran because he has become the king of sarcasm and stubbornness among my characters.
- She isn't as giving as Kit, but is more forgiving.
- More family oriented than Keiran (or than he was), but less than Oliver and Erik.
- Far less concerned about the future than Christian.
- She can't be very good at arguments because she just wants everything to work out. She has no chill but hates fighting.
- She is better at keeping her commitments and resolutions than Ben and Apollo, but less so than Avery.
- She is actually more brave than Avery and Adrienne, but less than Henry.

FATHER: Aeron Prichard
Half-blood. Welsh. b. 1976
Unaware of Kayla's unfaithfulness at the beginning. If he knew, he would likely be less depressed and more angry.
BIOLOGICAL FATHER: Unknown to Maude. A half-Veela from France, who her mother took to while their father was out of the country working on potions research a couple years into their marriage.
MOTHER: Kayla Bordieu
Half-blood. British. b. 1980
Not involved in her children’s lives. She left on Christmas Eve in 2022, and she and Aeron divorced soon after.
SIBLING/S:Gilbert Anthony Prichard
Twenty-one b. November 17, 2007
Wizard

Sixteen. b. April 24, 2012.
Squib, though they don’t call her that.
Maude is less protective of Iveagh than Gilbert, partly because she knows he has that covered. But she is trying to be the example that Gil can't be, since he works more of the time than she does. After all, he's only available to meet with her every other weekend.
OTHER: Henry Tross, the Head of the Department of International Games and Sports, is her boss.
SPECIES/BLOODTYPE: Maude believes she is just a human, magical powers aside, but is unwittingly 1/4 Veela.
SOCIAL STATUS: Lower Class by family, Wealthy by own efforts. She gives money to her father and younger sister, though, so it's starting to even out.

CHARACTER HISTORY
------------------------------------------------------------
EARLY YEARS:Maude was the first to leave for Hogwarts, but before that she loved spending time with her father at his company, and helping her younger siblings discover the world. She had always been interested in helping others and participating in exciting events. Being with people was probably her favorite thing, but once her magic started showing up, it was harder to spend time with the local children. That's why she was so glad to have a younger brother in Gilbert.
Her mother was her best friend before Gilbert was old enough to play with her properly, but there always seemed to be something awkward in the air. Maude never fully noticed it, given she was very little and interested in other things. After Iveagh was born, the little girl became her pet, almost. Not literally, of course. But she was always helping Iveagh get dressed or doing her hair, even though their mother could have done it. Then again, their mother was always busy with her work at the Ministry. Perhaps the fact that their mother works there is why neither of the grown up children have chosen jobs there.
HOGWARTS YEARS:After their father found out about Kayla, he fell into despair, and his company fired him. After that, their monetary situation became extremely poor. None of them were old enough to get a proper job except their father, and he was so down that he couldn't bring himself to try hard enough to succeed. He had a few odd jobs starting out, and more as time went on, but they were never enough to keep the family going properly. And he never lasted very long at any of them. As soon as she was able, Maude began working during the summers in Diagon Alley at whichever shop would take her. In the end, it definitely helped her resumé, though she didn't need it so much for the position she ended up in.
Probably her most embarrassing moment comes from her first crush. Back during her school years, Maude found it easy to have an interest in someone far off or unattainable. This is still somewhat true, as she likes the feeling of liking someone more than she actually wants to connect and create that bond. At any rate, in her fourth year, she found herself interested in a seventh year, and was thoroughly humiliated when everyone found out and he laughed at her in the Great Hall.
Maude's grades came second to her time on the Quidditch pitch. She was a chaser, as she didn't really have the arm strength starting out to be a beater. She was offered a professional spot on the Chudley Cannons but she felt that it would be betraying her love of the Holyhead Harpies, so she turned that down. She probably would have continued playing if the offer had been made, but she hasn't played on a team since school now that she's on the other side of the match.
ADULTHOOD:Career: Sports Reporter for a small paper. She can't write for the Prophet because Gilbert works there, but she makes up for this by commentating live matches as well. She goes to matches and also appears on the Wizarding World's screens at home when she does weekly updates and highlights. Achieving her position is probably her proudest achievement to date, excluding graduation. Given the circumstances surrounding her final term at school, that's probably not very surprising, though.
It's rather funny, though, that both she and her brother ended up in jobs that require writing skills. They actually send each other articles they aren't sure about sometimes. She's become better at editing her own work through talking to him, and he's learned how to make his paper more entertaining.
Maude has never had a legitimate relationship, and very rarely goes on dates. This isn't for lack of loving herself or anything like that. Rather, she hasn't the patience for the stress and effort that a relationship takes. To be fair, she's typically quite patient. But it causes so much trouble for everyone involved, and she hates the idea that someone might care for her if she doesn't feel the same way back. It just isn't fair, in her opinion.
