Class Schedule

This is the thread where all Professors will be expected to post their latest class, event or tutoring, if they choose to do the third as well. Check back here often, to be sure you don't miss the start of a new lesson. Those lessons will almost always be in the same thread, but the professor will post to a specific post in that thread, which marks the start of their most recent lecture. this way, you can easily recall what happened last time, and can include new plotting as classes continue throughout the year.

In order to help deal with our site's word count requirements, we have created a form for you to fill out, to help avoid having to write a long message about things if you aren't sure what to put. If you leave the topics and fill in the blanks, you should easily be able to avoid any trouble with that. If you post a new lesson, you should delete your previous post, or ask an Admin if you cannot do so for some reason. We ask that you post a new reply for each new lesson, even if you posted most recently, to ensure that it shows up on the forum index.

Apollo's first lecture involves the students working in groups to find out what another student (an NPC) has accidentally been hurt with, so that they can learn how to fix it. The first group to get it right earns House Points. Apollo has also noted in his inner dialogue that he might want to take on something of a student apprentice, so anyone interested should check out his Hogwarts RP Request thread to chat about that.

Officially (ie, from Hogwarts POV), this is supposed to be the theory component of the course, simply a lesson about what distinguishes Magical Being from other Magical Creatures.

Unofficially, Selwyn has an agenda he's going to be pushing about how Being Status is a political tool that keeps human wizards in power over other self-aware creatures.

In a homage to Professor Trelawney, Millie is beginning her first lesson of the year with a cup of tea. It's real teaching, promise. There are biscuits too! But there'll be some tea leaf reading after a cup or two and, no doubt, a Grim will be found. As the students embark on a magical (literally!) mystery tour into the unknown, what will they find? And who over-brewed their tea?!

After a year doing research of her own, Amelia Cooper is back at Hogwarts and ready to bring fun, yet educational classes to students of every house. This month students will be transforming pebbles into rabbits. Of course, through a series of lessons to follow, students will advance from inanimate objects to transforming animals from different Animal classes into rabbits.

There will be a discussion about the Dark Arts. Should they be called Dark? Does the word Arts romanticise them? Is the killing curse really that bad, when a cutting hex can kill just as badly and much more painfully? etc, etc.

If there's time, Destrey might demonstrate a cool hex on someone.
