Darren's school year had drawn to a close, and he had only one semester left before he was completely finished with University. However, if he wanted to keep photography as a pastime, he needed to expand his portfolio to other genres. That, he supposed, could include headshots. The woman must have seen his name in the Prophet, which is where most of his work went as of late. Otherwise, she might not have agreed to meet with him for pictures.
The lighting was set up in what should have been the spare room of his flat, along with both a green screen style sheet and a plain background he could use for more professional photos. As it were, he would be giving it a go this afternoon, so he set things up and took a few blanks to test flash. Just as he was setting his camera down and considering grabbing a snack, he heard Vanessa enter.
The woman was rather interesting, if only because she was involved in media, but also taught Muggle Studies. Perhaps she had chosen her career thanks to that class and wanted to pass it on. Darren had no idea. But it was interesting, either way. He figured that perhaps he could ask her before she left if it continued to bother him, and pushed it aside in favor of greeting her.
"In here," he called, leaning out into the hallway so he could wave a hand. He waited for her to stand and make her way into the room so he could offer a hand for her to shake. Usually he wouldn't have bothered, but she wasn't someone he was studying. She was helping him so he could help her in return.
"I've got some lighting set up that we can adjust if you look at the photos and decide you look washed out or anything," he explained, gesturing towards the setup. "Do you have specific emotions you want to portray? I know some people do serious, and happy. Things like that. Not sure what's up your alley."
