Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

The second term of Hogwarts had been going particularly well for Cynthia. She was getting good grades, particularly in potions and was even reading textbooks outside of the curriculum. One might have mistaken Cynthia for a Ravenclaw had she not been wearing her Slytherin robes every evening in the library. It was fair to say the Slytherin had expressed her fair share of Ravenclaw since her arrival to Hogwarts but she wasn't learning for learnings sake. Cynthia wanted to be the best and in order to be the best, to give her the power to do whatever she wanted, that mean't knowing her wand from her cauldron.

Sadly her one hundred percent homework streak had ended that charms class. The questions they'd been set the Slytherin had failed miserably on. Not that achieving seventy percent was anything close to a fail but when there is a dumb boy besides you who gets eighty percent it's easy to consider yourself a failure, at least for Cynthia anyway. For a start the boy, Jake, always left his homework until the last minute and secondly he had beaten Cynthia. Something nobody in the class had managed to do yet, which, naturally, made him a hero that he'd dethroned the queen.

As soon as the booming bell sounded the end of class the Slytherin shoved her work into her bag, not caring that the corners crumpled as they pressed against her potions book, and stormed out of the classroom in a foul mood and headed straight towards the Great Hall for lunch where she'd hopefully slide in at the seventh year end of the table away from Jake and his motley crew of first year Slytherins.

Sadly, Cynthia never quite made it to the Great Hall for Peeves had poured water down the marble staircase causing the first year to slip, slide and crash down the staircase right into another student. Her robes were soaking, her ankle was twisted and there was a rather nasty bruise already forming on her elbow as the Slytherin rolled her sleeves back to examine it. However, the worst thing to come out of all of this was that her bag had split in the process and her crumpled seventy percent was glaring at passers by.

'Why did you do that?' Cynthia called out at the student she was tangled in, not realising that the bucket of water sitting at the foot of the stairs near where the student had been wasn't the property of the student but Peeves - who was now cackling with delight at how he had successfully framed the student having to face the steely rage of Cynthia.

Matilda had every intention on going to class.  She had sat through potions thinking about going outside, the only thing that saved the Hufflepuff was the fact that it had been a dreary morning.  On her way to Charms she noticed that the sun was shining.  She was especially fidgety during the class, her professor asking her if she needed to excuse herself a few times.  Once she left the class she had had enough, she quickly made her way back to the dungeons to discard her robes.

Her impromptu day off didn't start with mischief.  She wondered around the campus making sure to stay out of view of prefects and teachers.  She was clad in jeans and a dark hooded jacket, she would be in trouble immediately if she was caught wandering, in dark clothes and sneakers with no books.  She was on her way in when she saw the ghost, Peeves.

"Well hello there little one!" he called with mirth before continuing "Where have you been all year?"

Matilda made a face and started towards the dungeons.  She and the ghost had been friends when she was younger.  The prankster had been taken with the mischievous ghost and the pair had terrorized a student or two.  In her third year the ghost had coached her through a prank involving binding a few students hands to their goblets during breakfast.  The panic that had ensued had caused the teen dearly and she had ended up with a lot of detention.  She had made her encounters with the ghost scarce after that but the ghost found the runt endearing, she hadn't stopped pranking, she had just stopped with him.  "Leave me be" she grunted.

"I liked the stunt that you pulled a few weeks ago"

"I have no idea what you're talking about"

"You don't?" he laughed and she stopped to watch him bob through a wall and back while laughing.

She made a face and was about to yell at the annoying ghost when she heard footsteps coming down the corridor.  She turned and darted back the way she came.  Once she reached the great hall she stopped hearing the bell and leaned against a wall to catch her breath.  She pushed her bangs from her eyes and let out a laugh.  The coast was clear now, she thought, but her thoughts were interrupted by Peeves.  She groaned as he stated "Close one! Reminds me of old times".  She ignored him pointedly and started up the marble staircase, he continued close to her ear "How about this?"

She glanced at him curiously as he disappeared.  She continued but was hit by pale limbs and water knocking the breath out of her.  She groaned as she thudded to the ground, sliding down a few of the slippery marble steps.  Her tailbone was on fire as the pile of limbs and hair stated 'Why did you do that?'

"Me?" she called as she pointed a finger at the spot Peeves had been.  The ghost of course was gone and Matilda spurted a bit, indignantly, she turned back towards the younger student and glared "I didn't do anything.  Your crazy!  Your the one that fell into me, ya..." she took a breath and tried to clear her vision as she rose her bum wet and hurting.  She tried to find the words to explain what she was trying to say, but she admitted she looked pretty guilty.  She didn't even have on her uniform or any of her books, what else had the student been doing on the marble staircase during class hours but causing mayham.  She laughed abruptly to try and defuse the situation, it was funny honestly, Peeves 7 Matilda 5.  She looked to the student gauging her expression for an honest reaction and saw steely rage.  Crap.
