Spells Cast by Muggles and Squibsby Reporter Harriet Funches The strange happenings in the Wizarding World continue as witches and wizards alike have reported that their magic is growing weaker. Some members of our community who were already struggling with their spell casting have found that they can hardly get any magic out at all. Unfortunately, a source informs me that they have already been teased about becoming a Squib, which is certainly something of a derogatory term in our world. More surprising, perhaps, is that those who were truly without magic, and considered ‘Squibs’ have started to find that the accidentally flare of anger, or a random sneeze have started causing the telltale signs of magic.
This is not singularly true about Squibs, though. At least not anymore. A Muggle accidentally caused a scene in a diner outside of Wizarding London when she dropped her glass, sending glass shards across the floor. Imagine her surprise – and the surprise of the Wizard she was eating with, when the glass quickly pieced itself together and returned to their table.
So far, it seems that Muggles cannot cast anything more than small, cleaning spells. But we are looking for more information in regards to this. Any personal experiences can be sent to the Prophet, and we will keep a log of what has been happening so that everyone can be aware of the potential danger that they (and their Muggle relations) might be in.
(ooc: If you aren’t sure what sorts of spells your Muggle character might be able to cast, send me a PM and approval can be granted. Just note that they cannot ever cast Unforgivables, and most of the spells that they *can* cast are quite harmless/docile.)
