Having a drink

Brant breathed out as he walked his job had kept him busy until today his one day off. Now it was evening and he decided to head down to the broom stick for some food. His jacket over his arm he wore his usual slacks, tee shirt and shoes his hair was some what neat and at his hip sat pouch he kept his potions in it was dark leather marked with runes he knew were for protection.

He walked over to the door and slowly opened it to hear laughter and smell cigarette smoke and he chuckled. Walking in he looked over at the bar keep.

"Pot of tea please." he said and looked for a place to sit he saw one next to a young lady. Hoping she would not mind he sat down placing his jacket on the remaining stool beside him. " sorry if your keeping this for some one, but its the only decent stool free" he said as he thanked the bar man who gave him his tea, slowly he added sugar and milk and sirred it slowly.

Sarah gave the guy next to her a smile, a small one, but it was a smile none the less. " Oh its fine. It's no big deal, and no I wasn't saving it for anything, actually" Sarah spoke the truth. She wasn't saving it for anyone. She watched the man stir his tea, and put some extra stuff to it. That sounded good actually, but she had to finish this butterbeer before she ordered something else. She felt the silence in the air. It wasn't awkward but it was still silence. IT was comforting silence, but Sarah liked everything silence. She wasn't much for talking either, but that was Sarah for you. An ambitious girl who like silence over being loud mouthed, and silly girl. Sarah took a huge gulp of her butterbeer, and shallowed it. The creamy liquid slid down her throat .

After a few minutes, Sarah finally thought she should break the silence, and turned to the man next to her. " Hello. I am Sarah Cain, and you are?" She asked in a gentle tone in case he was you know evil and wanted to kill her. That was one of her worst fears is being out and about, then bam someone trying kill her. Even though she was an auror, it was still a scary though.

Brant took a long slow breath in and let it out just as slow as he let his tension slip away so he could relax. He lifted the cup to his lips and blew over the rim watching the tea ripple as he did so. Soon he sipped it and savored the flavor of the tea. The quiet between them was welcome but the noise around them he found was not.

He heard her voice again and turned to look at her " Brant, Brant Crawford" he said and offered his hand to her. " pleasure to meet you Sarah, so what brings you here, apart from the excellent butter beer?" he asked with a small smile turned up just the corner of his lips as he looked at her.
