Cupid grinned as he examined the effort that everyone had put into making the room look amazing. There was still things to do, sure it was finished by a few finishing touches couldn't do any harm at all. 'I'll see you later.' Cupid said, chuckling as Katie hurried to attend to her appearance. He hadn't thought too much about what to wear, at the moment he was just wearing jeans a t-shirt. A casual look he usually pulled off.
As Katie left the room Cupid rose from his seat and headed over towards the door where a large box stood. Becca had brought it earlier for them to use, although it had only been as Katie left that the Slytherin remembered what exactly was inside. Ice. Becca had manage to freeze water into not ice, but dry smoking ice. He pushed the box into the corner (with a lot of effort considering how surprisingly heavy it was), pulled back the lid and lifted the hard ice onto a plate and placed it in the very corner. Then, getting a fan from the box he placed it behind the ice and gave it a tap.
The blades began to rotate and soon enough the fan was wafting the mystical air across the floor of the room of requirement giving it a somewhat winter feel. 'Awesome.' Cupid grinned to himself before lighting a few candles on the table that were molded in reindeer, snowmen and christmas trees. It really was going to be one great party, at least if everybody turned up, but Cupid was feeling rather positive that they would.
The sound of the door closing startled him. Katie had returned. Wow. Cupid thought, his eyes widening in astonishment. 'You look nice.' He said, not thinking about how it may sound. Although it was true, Katie did look pretty. Cupid had seen her mostly in her school robes or pajamas when they met up for their midnight feasts.
'Oh, yeah.' Cupid replied, shaking his head in distraction at Katie's question. 'I figured I would just put this on, to get in the mood?' He said, withdrawing a cream and maroon knitted jumper. There was a chance he would get warm throughout the night if he decided to dance, that part he was unsure on. Of course he loved music like anyone his age but his dancing wasn't perfected, and Cupid wouldn't want to make a fool out of himself in front of everyone - especially when he was climbing the social ladder.
'I also got these from Gladrags on the last Hogsmede visit.' He added, picking up a rather large bag and showing the insides to Katie. Santa hats, reindeer headbands and elf hats swamped the inside of the bag. 'I figured they'd be for the guests, a sort of souvenir?' The Slytherin hadn't been to a party since he was a child and then it was on a cousins birthday party of so, how was he supposed to know if guests got gifts or not? Either way it'd add to the Christmas feel.
'If only we had some sort of stand for them' Cupid muttered to himself, and as though the room was listening to him a coat stand materialized by the door, many hooks from the feet to the top sticking out of it. He grinned to Katie, this room really was cracked up what it was mean't to be and, placing the bag on the ground, Cupid started to load the stands with Santa hats.
