James watched the villagers from a distance. The students had apparently gotten a pass to go to the village for some recreation. How nice, he grinned.
He had brought one of the young students that he had taken a few days before. The student now bore the curse as well and was dedicated to following James completely. This student was a first year, and was small. That would work to James' benefit today.
He scanned the students looking for someone young and vulnerable--vulnerable to either being persuaded to join the pack, or vulnerable to being used as a political statement for the pack.
He saw a young blonde. She looked a bit slight of build for James's liking, but that could work either way for him. Either she would be an asset in the pack, or, by her death, she would bring attention to the pack. It would cause fear amongst the humans, and that was fine by James.
The young first year girl he brought was only too willing to do his bidding. He created a bleeding wound on her ankle with damage from one of his long claws. He left her sitting in an alley and ordered her to gain the attention of the blonde. He hid in the shadows, out of sight.
The young first year had been a new Ravenclaw. She knew how to be crafty on the streets. She sat down in the alley, against the stone wall of one of the shops and managed to produce some real tears and began to put on an excellent performance at being frightened and hurt and in need of help.
