As wizards, one would expect them to create things all the time and figure out what was best for a wedding. Why was it, then, that Keiran was left in this bizarre side room attached to the barn? Had it actually been there before? Perhaps not, and it was the best someone could do. He probably should have been complaining, but he couldn't. He couldn't speak at all, actually.
He was fairly certain he hadn't said a word all morning, not to anyone. Instead he had gone along with what was expected, heading straight to the dressing room he had been assigned to wait. He couldn't see Millie until the thing after all, so what else was he to do? Keiran couldn't very well walk out and hope she wasn't out there. What a lot of trouble he would get into if she was there.
"...Earth to Keiran? Hello?"
Looking back at the door, he found it open, a blonde standing there watching him with rather sad eyes. She closed the door behind her and walked over to him, wrapping her arms around his waist.
"I'm sorry, love." She murmured into his chest.
"Don't say that." Keiran scolded lightly, patting her hair. He ignored the surprise at her words, instead taking it as a generic statement one makes when someone has to do something they're not particularly fond of, or wanted to do in the first place. "I know it will work out. I know you haven't met her, but she's rather lovely."
Avery looked up at him in surprise. "You like her?" Keiran could see the smirk growing on her face and couldn't say he was surprised.
"Well, I don't know yet. I mean, we get on alright. I could see it in time, if she gives it the chance." He shrugged. Everything would turn out how it was meant to be in the end. Or something like that.
"How did your mum take it?" She asked, releasing him and sitting in a chair a step or two away. Avery's hand came up to mess with her curls.
"As expected, I suppose." Keiran shrugged, pulling her hand away from her hair. If she messed it up Avery would be furious. Guaranteed. "She just allowed Melissa and her mum to plan it however they liked, provided it could be kind of outdoors. You know how we are about that."
"Growing up with horses? Yes, I can imagine." Avery laughed brightly, choosing to settle her hands in her lap.
Keiran looked her over for a moment before smiling. "Lovely dress."
Avery looked down at the dark red number she was wearing - it had always been her favorite color. Grinning she looked up at him and shrugged happily. "You and your fiancee can't be the only ones who looks brilliant. I daresay I won't be near as pretty as Melissa, though."
"In her wedding dress? I should think not." Keiran laughed, not realizing has he said it how serious he was. She raised an eyebrow and he found himself practically able to read her mind. "I haven't seen the dress, don't panic. I know the rules." He smiled at her laugh before continuing, "I just.. Well.."
"You just want it to be correct so you can know you've been matched properly. That it will work." She mused.
Frowning, Keiran nodded subtly. "I just know how someone is supposed to feel when the girl walks down the aisle. You know? And I desperately wish it would happen here. I would feel rather guilty if it didn't."
Avery gave him a half-smile, knowing full well that Keiran was the type to let his guilt eat him. Strange for a Slytherin, she supposed. But it was true nonetheless. If he could make things work with this girl, Avery knew he would. He was definitely the kind of man who would hate making a girl think she wasn't cared about. She knew that story quite well - their history was full of weird moments that pointed that characteristic out. Deciding it was best to change the subject, she pretended to be put out.
"So, where in the world is your best man? Shouldn't he be here by now?" She asked, crossing her arms over her chest. "Being late is never good."
"He still has five minutes, love. Calm down." Keiran laughed.
Pausing, he turned to look at the mirror once more. He hadn't really seen Robin or Avery since the night the boys made a bet. What had happened? He nearly opened his mouth to ask her, but couldn't bring himself to do it. Instead, Keiran just kept quiet for a bit.
A knock at the door broke the silence, and Keiran turned to answer it.
((OOC: Insert Robin here
