It had been almost a year since his dorm mate, Zandell Dawlish, had passed away due to a coma caused by a flying accident that no one could really justify. It had taken a lot of people by surprise, everyone thought that he was going to be okay. He'd woken up for a few moments and had seemed normal, but then something had happened that he had been lunged back into the coma and this time he hadn't awakened from it. Nothing helped, no muggle help nor magical help did anything for him.
But his death had affected two people the most. Sarah Nesbitt and Dylan Davies. Sarah had been able to move on it seemed, but Dylan? Not so much. he seemed happy all the time, and always found a way to make people feel better when they had bad days, but it was clear that he was not completely okay from Zandell's death. Who would be? It wasn't easy to move on, no matter how simple the situation would be to move on from.
Because of this one Hufflepuff puppy by the name of Nathan Finch-Fletchley had taken it upon himself to make his Ravenclaw friend at least somewhat happy for a while. "Come on, you have to at least get out more. Walk around outside with Javy and make new songs like that." Nathan said, pulling Dylan's arm to get him down the corridor and into the courtyard. Dylan's toad, Javy, peeked out from the boy's pocket and quickly retracted his head back into the pocket.
"I don't see the point. I can make songs perfectly fine inside the castle." Dylan whined. "Yeah, but they're all about a lost friend. They're all about Zandell. Dyl it's been a year almost, you have to let him go." Dylan sighed and looked down. Okay, that might have been a little bit harsh on Nathan's part. He placed his arm around his friend's shoulder. "You know he's better off now. Now it's your turn to get better." Nathan told him. Dylan sighed again and nodded. "I guess.."
As they headed a bench in the courtyard, Nathan spotted one of his housemates, who was a year below him, not too far away. "Aalina!" he called out, waving his arms frantically. Dylan laughed softly at his sudden excitement to see another person and he thought Nathan looked like an over excited puppy. For some reason, Nate always reminded him of a puppy, but Dylan never quite understood why. Maybe it was because he was always so hyper, but there was also something else about the boy that made him think that.
