Summer had finally started and school was finally out. Normally, you'd think that a fourteen year old would be outside, playing with friends or siblings or doing something that involved being outside in the increasingly good weather and no more school. That wasn't the case for Hitame Higurashi though. It was hardly ever the case since she turned fourteen last summer. The Gryffindor girl was almost always inside, be it because of classes, or because she had homework.
There was also the fact that the fourteen year old girl worked at the Three Broomsticks. That was the puzzling part, a girl with money plenty of money in the bank from her parents, working? Well, the answer is right there. Sure she had money, but it was from her parents. The biological parents who had allowed themselves to be separated from herself and her sister. She can understand that they were separated because of the Death Eaters, but the fact that after they left, they did nothing to contact them or anything, she couldn't forgive that.
So, naturally, Hitame refuses to accept anything that came from her biological parents. Hence, why she works at the pub.
Hitame sneezed softly as she finished wiping the table that was just unoccupied a few minutes ago, down and she moved on to a different table. There were some times when she needed to work that caused her to miss class. Of course, the class that she sometimes missed was the one she actually looked forward too now, since Sophia was the Professor. But she also knew that Soph would understand if she missed the class and she would give her the work afterwards if she asked for it.
But that was rare, that she missed classes because of work. The owner knew she was a student so he made sure that she was hardly ever called to work if she had classes. Which meant that she normally worked the late shift or on weekends. Now though, since it was the start of summer vacation she had to work a bit earlier than during the year. She still had to stay until closing though, which was fine by her since it wasn't that long until closing.
So long as a lot of people didn't come in and make them stay open later...
