What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Finding in Ally in the Alley Empty Finding in Ally in the Alley

Toby was bored. Bored! It was a bit pathetic, really. He had all of Diagon Alley and all of Knockturn Alley at his fingertips, and there wasn't a single thing he wanted to do. It didn't matter how pathetic Toby considered his dilemma, in the long run. For the teenager was still incapable of finding anything that could capture his interest. Due to Jack's working hours, the werewolf was in Diagon almost every day, and was trusted to wander as he pleased. That was brilliant for a while, but now that the boy had seen all there was to be seen, there was little to do.

Plopping himself down on a rusty old bench, the male let out a deep sigh. Perhaps he should get a tattoo. Toby had always wanted one, and he knew that there was a place in Knockturn. Or perhaps he should get a part-time job somewhere for the summer. Now that wasn't a bad idea. A job would probably keep him busy, and Merlin knows the storeowners were practically begging for workers around this time of year. The spending money would be nice as well, Toby couldn't believe he hadn't though of this earlier.

Standing from the bench and stretching his muscular arms, Toby began to slowly walk down the cobblestone street, making sure to keep an eye out for Help Wanted, or Now Hiring signs. Completely absorbed in the shop fronts as he was, Toby had no warning before he crashed straight into another person. Attempting not to land on top of whomever he'd just bumped into, Toby controlled his fall enough that it was his side that got most of the impact. Wincing slightly as he pushed himself up with heavily scarred arms, the werewolf examined the blood trickling down his leg. Wondering if he just gained another scar to add to his collection, Toby looked up to see how the other person involved in the collision had faired.

Finding in Ally in the Alley Empty Re: Finding in Ally in the Alley

Percy didn't often wander around Diagon Alley. Usually he plotted up some sort of mental adventure with his friends. Today, however, everyone seemed to be busy. Since he was going with his friends to Greece for a few weeks, he wasn't traveling to Santorini to see his Grandparents like he usually did. That said, Percy decided perhaps today would just be a day to walk around, maybe get ice cream or something, and relax.

Percy decided he hated doing all of those things. He was bored. Completely and utterly. It was driving him crazy. He would have killed for something fantastic and bizarre to happen. He loved the surprise and adrenaline that comes with being shocked.

As if someone could hear his thoughts, he turned a corner and ran into a bloke walking the other way. "Merlin!" He cried as he stumbled backwards. Catching himself as best as he could with his hand - which, admittedly, wasn't the brightest thing to do. His quidditch coach would have killed him - Percy looked over at the other person whose leg was now bleeding.

"Merlin," He repeated, "I'm sorry, mate. You all right?" Percy asked, refusing to acknowledge the scars that already seemed to cover the boy. He wasn't one to point out flaws or judge based on appearances or words. He didn't know who this guy was, but Percy felt bad for hurting him.

Finding in Ally in the Alley Empty Re: Finding in Ally in the Alley

"Yah, I'm fine," Toby responded automatically, shooting the other bloke a quick grin before returning his attention to his leg. Wiping away the blood with the heel of his palm, the werewolf took a closer look at the injury. Without all the red liquid in the way, it was much easier to tell that it really was just a surface wound. A lot of blood, little real damage.

Wiping away the accumulated blood once more, Toby decided that he wouldn't even need to put something on it. Hoisting himself up with a slightly grazed palm, the teenager looked down at the other guy, whom was still on the ground.

"Sorry, wasn't paying much attention to where I was going, you alright?" he said finally, holding out a hand to help the other male pull himself into a standing position. Glancing into the alley around them, Toby had to hold back a snort at the fact that they weren't even spared a second glance. Of course.

"I'm Toby," the blonde added awkwardly, a bit unsure of what one was supposed to say to someone after knocking them to the ground.

Percy checked his hands over as the other guy wiped at his leg. The boy didn't look concerned, though, so Percy figured he was doing okay. His words reassured Percy, and he nodded. At least Percy hadn't hurt anyone. He was already not having a brilliant day. He really didn't need guilt adding to that.

"Yes, I'm fine. Just a scratch." He replied, lifting a hand to show the white marks that would surely go away soon. "Quidditch reflexes." He chuckled, shrugging.

The boy helped Percy up and he thanked him. "Percy." He replied with a nod. Not sure what to say, he decided to comment on Toby's comment from early, about not paying attention. "I stopped paying attention out of boredom. Had nothing to do today, so I started wandering around." He rolled his eyes once, showing his frustration as well by sighing afterwards.

Finding in Ally in the Alley Empty Re: Finding in Ally in the Alley

Toby nodded with a slight smile when the other teenager mentioned Quidditch. The blonde had never played himself due to his very limited flying experience, but was aware that if he ever put his mind to it he could make a pretty decent beater. Toby could remember avidly following the sport as a child, his favorite team being the falcons. The boy was sure that his face had looked ridiculous when he'd learnt that Jack Dyllan was a part of the team.

"What position do you play?" Toby asked curiously, hoping to strike up a conversation. After all, the only thing he had to do was go job-hunting, and that could always be done the next day. Striking up a conversation with someone his age, probably wouldn't be an option.

Studying Percy quickly, Toby came up with the assumption that he seemed to be a normal enough guy. From what his appearance said, anyway. Percy might've been a bit more tanned that your average English bloke, but that just meant he had a bit of non-British blood in there somewhere. Either that, or he was fond of cosmetic charms, something that Toby highly doubted.

Percy was a bit surprised that Toby would actually be interested in his ramblings about Quidditch, but he found that he actually didn't mind so much. He'd hardly had anything to do all day. If talking to this new guy, Percy didn't really mind too much.

"I prefer to play Keeper." Percy replied lightly. "Save the day and whatnot." He added, laughing and lifting one shoulder in a shrug.

Now that he thought about it, Toby looked someone near Percy's age. Why hadn't he seen him before? "So, are you from around here? I don't come to Diagon Alley often or anything, but I haven't seen you before." Percy wasn't one to pry or anything of the like, but now that they were talking, he found that he was glad of the option of having something to do and someone to talk to.

Finding in Ally in the Alley Empty Re: Finding in Ally in the Alley

Toby nodded in recognition. While beater would certainly be his position of choice, keeper would be next in line. The seeker position would probably bore the werewolf to death, and he wasn't anywhere near fast or agile enough for a chaser. Perhaps he would ask Jack to teach him to fly properly, so that he could join one of the Hogwarts teams.

"Naw, not really from around here," the werewolf responded vaguely with only a few seconds of hesitation. "Recently moved though, and the new place is pretty close," Toby continued, internally wincing at the semi-untruthful response. He hadn't exactly moved; just been lucky enough to stumble upon someone whom took him in. Toby met Percy's eyes with a casual shrug, hoping that the other teen wouldn't care enough to pry.

"You hungry?" the blonde asked after a few beats of awkward silence. In accordance to his watch it was almost one o'clock, and Toby hadn't eaten anything since the breakfast Jack had placed in front of him many hours before.
