GENERAL APPEARANCE: Valerie has a wavy black hair down to her back, which she usually tie it up into ponytail style (on some occasion she will braid it). She is careful about her appearance (it’s not that she likes to wear extravagance clothes but she always make sure to wear something proper). Outside the school’s uniform, she usually wears trench coat and dark colored long pants.

GOALS: Actually her biggest wish is to restore her mother’s name in her family’s eyes. But she realized that it was nearly impossible to do so on her own hands unless she is married to a man who has a higher status and power from her family’s (which is not that hard to find but she would rather die than be a leech like that). Then her goal now changed to be an excellent potion master so she would not depend on her family anymore and be away from them(and she would bring her mother with her too).

BOGGART: Valerie sometimes gets an imagination where her mother is brutally and openly mocked by the family and acquaintances because her inability to bear another children on a gathering, then somebody speaks out loud that Valerie, as her only daughter, fails at Hogwarts then her carrier as a potion master. Her father uses her failure to disown her mother and her from the family. Whenever she gets this vision she always stays awake studying until she reaches her limit (or pass out).

PATRONUS: It was when she reached her seventh birthday, as that time she didn’t know the reason people looked at her with confusing expression except that she is a little bit different than her half-siblings (she thought the only problem was why she was the only one who has black hair and almost black eyes among blondes and jade or sapphires). Her birthday celebration is not extravagant (not even half as big as Amanda had two months after) but she remembered there were so many people there, laughing and joining the games on the party. Her mother was always with her all times, from waking her up, dressing her, until taking her to her bed when she fell asleep after the party, and she never found her as chatty as that day. Her half-sister Denise braided her hair and gave her a box of hair clips and a maroon colored brush, while Olivier and Constantin gave her first bow and became her most persistent rivals in the games. Amanda was slightly exhausted at the time but she still danced with her a few rounds and gave her a ‘lucky butterfly’ (which she still kept it until now). Valerie played with everyone (include the maids and the servants too) until dinner. Her father even wished her happy birthday. Even the reality was shown and got worse after that, she still considered it as a precious memory, because she got so many hugs and kisses from her family and friends.

DEMENTOR: Valerie was ten when she discovered why her father acting coldly toward her mother. It was when the household received visits from the Lord and Lady Dubois, her grandparents from her father side. She remembered that she went to her father’s work room to greet her grandparents. But when she got there she heard her grandfather shouted about her father brought his mistress to the household was a shame enough to the family, moreover that he was planning to legalize the children as the family members. Her father replied that he is already disgraced at the moment he married a woman who never bear an heir to the family but instead gave Valerie whom he considered nothing but a burden. Valerie quickly rush toward them upon hearing that, but her father’s reaction was indifferent. She is frozen in her place until her grandfather called her grandmother to escort her to the garden. That memory still successfully shaking her emotion.

VERITASERUM: Even though she was on the good terms with her half siblings, she actually envied them. They are all good looking and shared similar looks with father, not to mention her father cared them more than her. And because of her father, people around them respected her half siblings than her and her mother, which one time she actually wanted to shout out that her mother is the legal wife so treat her as the real mistress.

MIRROR OF ERISED: Deep inside her heart she wishes thinks were so much simpler in her life. That her father and mother were just normal wizards (not an aristocrat), that they love each other like a normal lovers would.

PERSONALITY: Valerie is basically a brave and dedicated person. She will do her best to reach her goal. But because her insecurity and inferior complex of her half siblings, sometimes she’ll gets sensitive. Normally she can control her emotion well but if someone has annoyed her very badly, she certainly will have some words with them (and doesn’t mind if it goes into a fight). On another side she actually wants many friends to talk and share her feeling with.

CHARACTER HISTORY

Early Years: Before the Hogwarts Valerie was in Dubois family household. She is actually the only children of her father’s legal wife, Marianne. But because she is a girl she couldn’t be the next head of the family. Things gone down hills when she was four, it was when her mother was diagnosed that her uterus was weak so she couldn’t bear children anymore. Shortly after the news, her father brought his mistress and their children to the household. And because two of them are boys, which one could become the heir, They are accepted. But the family reputation went down from there. Some pitied her mother and blamed her father for bringing ‘that woman’ to the family, but others put the blame on Marianne on her inability of bearing children. Not to mention Valerie’s looks would never on her siblings level, so she was considered as an unfortunate and wasted daughter of Dubois family. And after she discovered what her father thought about her mother, she became hyper-aware of what her people spoke, especially on her back. She already got people comparing her appearance to her siblings, now added her paranoia that they knew the reason why my father indifference toward her mother. The way they interact or gave her kind treatment because they pitied her really crushed her pride.

Hogwarts Years: On her years at Hogwarts she spend most of her time studying (focusing on potions) and trying her best to get excellent marks (at least E) while trying to make friends with others. Her insecurity still brought her down, especially when some students had questioned of how different she was from her siblings. But so far she felt comfortable at Hogwarts because she was away from her father and closer to her goal.

I like her. She should fit in well at Hogwarts. She is developed with enough going on in her life that it should create a lot of opportunities for personal rp as well as getting involved in the site plot if you want.

Thank you. I see you requested Ravenclaw or Gryffindor. To me, she doesn't fit what I look for in a Gryffindor, but she would fit in Ravenclaw or even Hufflepuff. So, I will accept her and sort her.
