Let the rain wash away all the pain of yesterday

It was nice but cloudy outside. Nick was finished with all of his schoolwork and decided to come to the courtyard. Out of the seven years Nick was at Hogwarts he never really came to the courtyard. If he went outside the grounds was where he was at usually. Clouds loomed in the air that threatened rain. Nick liked the rain. It relaxed him. He went and sat on the stone bench and looked up at the grey sky of clouds. It was peaceful. No students being noisy. Plus the right amount of wind to be comfortable. Nick was starting to regret he didn't come here more often.

Sarah needed to get out of the castle, the castle was making her more depress then she already was. Closing her Potions book she put it into her book bag before she sent her bag back upstairs before she looked out the window and sighed. It was gray and gloomy, exactly how Sarah felt. Deciding to take alittle break from her school work Sarah walked out the common room towards the lake before she decided against it. She needed some place no one knew to go and that was the gardens. Pushing opened the entrance hall doors a nice cool breeze hit her face but she didn't smile like she usually did.

Walking towards the gardens she stopped dead in her steps as she seen someone already there. But when she realized who it was she frowned, it was Nick one of her good friends that she haven't seen in awhile. She was tempted to go back to the castle but she honestly didn't want to. "Hi... Nick."Sarah muttered as she took a seat next to him and looked at the sky and sighed.

Nick looked at Sarah for a while. Hidden behind a pretty face was a depressed personality. Then Nick remembered about her and Zandell. Nick sat his hand on top of hers. "I'm here if you need somebody. You know that right?" Nick asked. Nick started to empathize for Sarah. She had really cared for Zandell, going back to when they were kids. It was just bad what happened to her. She was sweet and innocent. It also wasn't the first time Zandell had hurt her.

Sarah looked at Nick and gave him a weak smile, it was a weak smile but it was the first smile Sarah did in months. "Thankyou Nick, your a good fried."said Sarah softly as tears rolled down her cheeks. "It's just hard losing him Nick, I thought when he was in a coma was bad but now that he's dead it's just a nightmare that won't end!"Sarah whispered. Sarah knew it wasn't a nightmare it was real, but she wished nothing more then this to be a terrible nightmare and she'll wake up from it and everything be fine. "Why did he have to leave me Nick, wasn't I good enough for him?"Sarah asked him softly.

Nick took his hands and wiped away the stream of tears rolling down her face. He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her. She was dumping everything on herself. She didn't do anything wrong. "Sarah you were beyond good for Zandell. You were perfect" he said softly. "We've both lost people. But we learn to get over them and it makes us stronger" Nick explained. Nick knew it would be hard for Sarah. Her and Zandell knew each other for a long time. They were best friends.

Sarah shook her head. "No I wasn't Nick, I was horrible to him I gotten mad at him for a stupid misunderstanding!"said Sarah softly. "Everyone blamed me when he fell off his broom and ended up in that coma and they were right to think that."said Sarah softly. "Maybe he just didn't wake up because he thought I would hate him and I don't."said Sarah softly. "I just wish he didn't leave me like this Nick, what am I suppose to do with myself now?"Sarah asked him softly. "It's like I lost a part of me Nick, like my soul and feelings died along with him!'said Sarah softly.

The wind started to pick up and it was cold now. Nick wrapped his sweater around Sarah to keep her warm. "I never blamed you. I would've done the same thing. I think you should just find someone else. It's obvious he didn't deserve you" Nick said. Inside Nick knew she wouldn't want someone else. The rain started to sprinkle too. It wasn't bad just yet. Just cold and rain. Though the rain was light, with the wind it blew right in their faces, which made everything worse. Nick liked the rain. But he didn't like when it blowed in his face and was cold.

Sarah looked at him with her emerald eyes and gave him a weak smile. "Thanks Nick, but your probably the only one who didn't."said Sarah softly. Sarah shook her head at his reply. "No Nick, I didn't deserve him."said Sarah softly as she wrapped his jacket closer to her as the wind blew around him. "I don't think I can I have someone right now, there's just to much pain inside me right now."said Sarah softly. Sarah didn't want anyone else though, she wanted Zandell back but it wasn't possible even if she went back in time. No matter what she did, nothing could replace what she had with Zandell.

"You could.... you could have me" he said quietly and without thinking. Then without thinking, he kissed her. It was full of her sadness but had the steadiness that Nick brought to everything. After he was able to pull away he just looked at her dumbfounded. He didn't know what to do. Would she like it. Or would she run away crying. "I... I'm sorry" Nick said as if he was out of air. Nick bit his bottom lip, it was something he did when he was nervous about decisions.

Sarah looked at him shocked like she been stunned by a curse. "Why did you do that Nick?"Sarah asked him softly. "Don't you see I don't deserve anybody? clearly Zandell dying was a sign!"said Sarah softly. That was how Sarah truly felt, she didn't think she deserved anybody. "I got to go I'm sorry!"said Sarah softly as she gave him back his sweater and took off running. Sarah didn't know what to do, she was confuse by all this and she just wanted it to end!
