Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

"You're lucky that I like being outside, other wise I would keep you inside with me."

The sound of a certain fifteen year old boy's voice traveled along the path, echoing slightly, as he walked down from the entrance of the castle to the grounds. He wasn't sure where he was going to head, but it was either the lake or the greenhouse. It really wasn't for him, it was more for his pet toad, Javy, who loved being outside when the weather got warmer. And why wouldn't he? Everyone loved being outside during this weather.

He wasn't any exception either. Dylan Davies wasn't going to miss out on a chance to be outside, but he knew it was healthy for his pet to be outside in the sun for a while and that was the main reason he was outside today. Or any day for that matter. Since he didn't mind being inside a lot, the only reason he was usually outside was either for his classes or to give Javy a little time to enjoy the weather.

Carrying the toad in his jacket pocket, Dylan hurried down the path and stopped when the path slip. He looked down each path; one led to the greenhouse, the other led to the lake. Well, the last time they'd been outside, they had gone to the greenhouse. "So, the lake it is!" he exclaimed and laughed softly, looking down at Javy quickly before he ran down to the lake.

There were a lot of other students, mostly first and second years, who were right on the edge of the lake. The splashed each other with water and dipped their feet in the lake. A few were swimming and others were just playing with friends on the edge. The others looked like they were sixth and seventh years. Everyone else who wasn't there must've still had classes or work or something. Or maybe they just didn't want to be outside was a little weird to him, since he knew pretty much everyone loved being outside when the weather got good. He smiled at a couple of second years who passed him and waved. The girls giggled and ran down to the lake edge, joining their friends.

He missed his first and second years, they were so care-free, even with the fight with his friends. Friends... why did that word all of sudden hurt to say so much? Oh right... One of his best friends... Zandell, he was gone. Dylan looked down at the ground for a few seconds, biting his lip, before he let himself sink down to the ground with his back against the tree he was standing in front of. It had all been so sudden, why did Zandell have to go away all of a sudden... He was a strong and healthy kid... Why him? He could've made it out of the coma... but maybe he didn't want to. Maybe it was his choice to die...

Dylan shook his head. No. He wanted to live, he had a girlfriend. He wanted the band to get back together, just like he did. It wasn't fair. The Ravenclaw punched the ground with his fist and let tears stream down his cheeks. It wasn't fair, he shouldn't have died. Remembering that people were there, the boy wiped his face and took Javy out of his pocket, "Stay close to me. There are a lot of people around this time, most of which won't hesitate to kill you." he said softly, before putting the toad down, and watching him hop a few inches away, but remaining close enough for him to scoop Javy up in case something was going to happen to him.

He quickly looked away from the toad and down at the journal he had with him. It was his song writing journal that he carried around everywhere with him. Dylan opened it and started writing down some memories he had of Zandell and the band while they were together. Tears started to well on his eyes again and he wiped them away once more. "Maybe I can get a good song out of this..." he whispered softly to himself.

Amelia was ready to throw her books out of the library window. She was sick of studying. She wanted to be outside and not be studying. She wanted to enjoy at least one single day out of the week. Just one day. She was sure she could take one day off of studying. What she should she do though? It had been what seemed like forever since she last did something for herself.

She looked inside her messenger bag to see what she could find. She found a book about water plants. She hadn’t noticed it before. She also saw a piece of paper folded up sticking up from within the book. She pulled the piece of paper upward. ‘Amelia this for you. I really hope you like the bag. This is a great book, remember to read all of it even the title page. Your mother thinks you should know more about the experiences other people had in the Second War. Love, Uncle Neville’. Amelia smiled. She made a note to herself to write to Neville. She knew what she was going to do today. She shoved all her books into her bag and took off out of the library. The librarian yelled at her for running. Amelia flipped the librarian off, she hated the librarian. Librarian yelled at her down the hall saying she was going reporting this to the Hufflepuff House Head and the Hufflepuff Perfect. “I’m the Perfect!” yelled Amelia. It was good to be back.

Amelia stopped by the Hufflepuff Dormitories to drop off most of her books. She grabbed her writing stationary kit and something hard to write on. She plopped in few lightweight books into her bag. She grabbed an umbrella. The weather can change so quickly. She changed into a muggle band t-shirt her Aunt Hannah gave her, a pair of old worn blue jeans and really worn sneakers. Then she went outside into the light. “Haha, light how I’ve missed you,” said Amelia not caring who heard her. A group of girls laughed at Amelia. “You laugh now but wait until we’re adult and I bet your sorry arises in a duel,” said Amelia giving the group a cocky smile. She loved messing with stuck-up people like those girls. She first went and got her owl, Featherwing. Which made it a longer route to the lake but she didn’t mind.

She was surprised to see so many people at the lake. “Well Featherwing, we aren’t alone today,” she said petting her brown and white speckled barn owl. It hooted at her. Most owls disliked sunny days but not Featherwing. Featherwing was a strange owl like her owner. Featherwing took off from Amelia’s shoulder accidently digging into it a bit. Featherwing took a drink out of the water and dipped her wings in a little bit then returned to Amelia

Amelia looked around. It was mostly second and first years. She didn’t want to hang out with them. She didn’t want to even hang out with her thirteen year old brother’s friend she wanted no part of anyone younger then him. She hanged out with Alice but she was fourteen and she was almost like family. She wondered what Alice had been up to. She finally saw someone she recognized. Dylan Davies. She remotely remembered his band breaking up. She couldn’t remember that well since it was a while back. So what if it was a guy? Lance didn’t get jealous if she talked to guys, well he did get a bit insecure but she would always tell him over and over she wasn’t going to leave him.

“Hey, Dylan right?” asked Amelia walking over. She wasn’t really being bashful at all. She didn’t have to be. She wasn’t interested in any guys besides Lance. She had learn from her parents to be very loyal in relationships. Her parents’ marriage had issues but adultery wasn’t one of them.

Dylan couldn't get the day Zandell died out of his head. he felt that something had been off that day, but he couldn't tell what it was. He just knew there was something, something bad was going to happen. But there was no way he could've guessed that it was going to be the death of his best friend. He couldn't wrap his mind around how it happened. He had been doing so well.

He blinked a few times to keep tears from falling from his eyes. He had to get over what happened to Zandell. He was gone... and there was no changing that. Even if he tried, there was nothing he could do. He had to get over it.

There's no way to change it.
I want to try, but I know I can't.

It was easy for him to write songs about something that had happened to him. It was the only way he had to express his feelings too. For some reason the songs he wrote when he was sad were a lot better than the ones he wrote when he was happy. He never thought much about it though, as long as he made songs he was satisfied. Sometimes you just had to go with the flow and that was exactly what Dylan did most of the time.

Suddenly a voice called his name out and he looked up from the notebook, his eyes glistening slightly with unshed tears. They began to dry as he blinked to clear his vision. He knew this girl, she was in the same year as he was. Amelia Macmillan. Dylan smiled at her and nodded. "Yeah, I'm Dylan. You're Amelia, right?" he asked her.
