And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Looking For Lockhart

Rain hammered against the castle windows. April had been a peculiar month this year. Like each year it had it's fair share of spring showers but this year it was as though the weather had a twinge bipolar, it was from one extreme to the next. On Monday it had been glorious sunshine, even for Scotland; Tuesday it seemed a heat wave was coming and by Wednesday the grounds had been full of students lying idly on the sloping lawns soaking up the suns rays between classes. Then. Thursday happened. A torrent of raindrops soaked the sun-kissed grass. Friday the vegetable patch had become almost swamp like and when Bertie woke up hoping it to be sunny he was miserably mistaken: rain was being gusted around his Ravenclaw dormitory.
Not that he had planned to go outside of the castle this weekend but the sunshine filtering through the window panes would have put him in a more cheerful mood. Never the less he was able to go along with his plan for the weekend.
Bertie was walking among the many shelves of the Hogwarts Library. He had finish all his homework that needed doing and had the whole weekend to relax from work, although by Sunday evening he would have probably began looking up the topics they were bound to cover in class the following week. In the present, however, Bertie was looking for a range of novels from one particular author.
He had heard of a once-loved hero named Gilderoy Lockhart, be it the once-loved hero turned out to be a fraud, he was still excited to indulge in the tales that made him so famous - even if they weren't his own accounts.
Bertie loved more than anything to write novels and his biggest inspiration came from his own leisurely literature.
Where on earth will they be? He thought to himself as he passed an isle signed 'Historic Wizard Wars.' He had been looking for the Lockhart books for over twenty minutes and there didn't seem to be anyone around to guide him in the right direction. Not that he would have asked for help anyway, he preferred to do things by himself and it wasn't like he had been bored the past twenty minutes, already he had created a four different images of what to expect from a Lockhart book and he hadn't read a single one.
Humming to himself Bertie turned down the isle sign posted 'Transportation & Trave.l' Maybe he'd stumble across the collection down here? After all he had heard they were about 'his' adventures and explorations.

She closed her eyes. It seemed that the books are breathing, that they are alive. They whispered to her. 'Hello Raven. How are you? We are fine. Why haven stand the whole week. It's so boring. Do you want to read us?'
She smiles. 'Hello, yes, I'm fine. Thanks you. I have lessons the whole week. I got an eight in charms, isn't it wonderful? And of course I want to read you. I want to read something about muggles. See what wizards says about them. Do you have that?'
She didn’t notice that she say it loudly.
The books murmured. 'Of course you just have to search.'

Bertie had been scanning across the spines of books in the 'Travel' section for about five minutes before he heard the voice of a young girl say the words: 'Hello, yes, I'm fine. Thanks you. I have lessons the whole week. I got an eight in charms, isn't it wonderful? And of course I want to read you. I want to read something about muggles. See what wizards says about them. Do you have that?'. He waited for a moment to hear if anybody replied to the girl... Silence.
Bertie had thought he was the only person in the library, especially seeing as it was half past nine in the morning - most students would be enjoying a refreshing lie in, but not Bertie, he had hoped that he would have found a Lockhart book and been able to occupy his favourite spot before other students began to pile in to complete their homework.
The girl sounded as though she was directly the other side of the books Bertie was scanning through. He peered through a dusty gap where a books had once sat and saw a young girl with brown hair that curled to her shoulders. He'd seen her before in the common room from time to time.
Naturally He thought to himself. What other house member would be in the library at this time on a Saturday?. His eyes scanned her surroundings. She was alone, and clearly talking to herself, unless of course she had been talking to a ghost although they would have had the curtsy to reply.
Ignoring the girl he began to clamber up a ladder leaning against the shelves, his breathing quickening as the ladder began to wobble with every step he took.

(hmf, I typed my post, and it’s gone.)
'Yes, I have to search. By the last word she realized that she spooked loudly. Quickly she opened her eyes. Has anyone heard her? Was there anybody?
Yeah, there was. A boy on a ladder. Her cheeks became red. Oh, there was somebody. Somebody had heard her. He think I was crazy, she thinks.
'Sorry,' she muttered 'I was talking to the books.' She felt ashamed. Walking to a bookshelf, she looked to the boy. Oh, the ladder, he wobbled. 'Watch out!' She groaned. What if he falls? No, she had to warn him.

Bertie continued to climb the ladder. With every step he took it wobbled more and more. Unsure if he would be able to keep it sturdy if he were to continue his climb he paused and began to look at the books that were his eye level. He turned his head as he saw the girl emerge to his side of the shelf and apologize for talking to the books. Bertie didn't think she was crazy, in fact he had sworn that the books sometimes whispered to him, then again he usually cast out any sound because he was always so wrapped up in his in own thoughts and imagination.
Not knowing what to say to the girl he simply smiled and took another step up the ladder. However this time the ladder gave a more forceful shake. Bertie's knuckles whitened as he grasped onto the side of the ladder for dear life, afraid it'd fall and he'd end up in the hospital wing. He hadn't been there yet and planned to keep it that way.
'C-can you hold the ladder whilst I come d-down please?' He asked the girl, a lot louder than he intended, the panic shaking his voice.

She walked to the corridor of books to the boy. Why did he smile? Because he thought that she was crazy? Or was it a nice smile?
She didn't know. He climbed on the ladder. What a creaky thing, and dangerous. If he falls...
And yes, he fell, almost. 'Yes, of course.' She answered to the question. 'Don't be afraid. I hold it.' The boy tolk more loudly than normal, than he was afraid. But he didn’t have to be afraid. She was there. She hold the ladder. So he didn’t fall. Her hands clasp the lath. She hoped he didn’t fall.

Bertie watched as the girl held the ladder, when he was certain she was keeping it steady enough he slowly, one step at a time, returned to the ground. 'Thanks.' He muttered. 'I think I best stay clear of them in future.' He added. The younger Ravenclaw seemed rather odd to Bertie, but wasn't one to judge he wasn't exactly Mr. Cool either. Now would be a good time to ask if she'd come across the Lockhart books.

Bertie thought for a moment. The girl must only be in the first year and chances are she'd never even heard of Gilderoy Lockhart let alone know where his works are. 'What are you doing?' He asked out of interest. Maybe she couldnt help him but Bertie could be able to direct her to the right place, he had spent a vast amount of time within the four Walls of the library the past three years.
