Restructuring

Part of Jude's job was to try to coordinate communication between the departments and the Minister's office. When he wasn't busy with something else, or his own little projects, he would take strolls around the Ministry, to every unsearched corner and every forgotten crevice, to note whatever he thought might be of interest and of use to the Minister. Jude wasn't a fan of the current Minister's politics - too clean - but he did like the power the Minister wielded.

He was now venturing off to the Department for Control and Regulation of Magical Creatures. Sawyer was on his way out, the man missed Romania and his dragons, so Jude was going to try and scout talent within the department. Jude preferred outside hiring to internal, but the Minister seemed to prefer hiring from the inside.

He strolled around for awhile, his hawk eye making all who knew him squirm in their seats. Finally, he approached a young man who he knew by face and not necessarily by name and said, "Could I have to step into the conference room with me?"

Things were as hectic as ever, not only in the Department but at home and at Hogwarts too. He thought that once he'd graduated, he wouldn't have to worry about the school anymore. Of course he'd forgotten one important thing. His sister. Mayleen was still a student and a poor one at that. She was constantly complaining about being there, going to classes and everything else. It wasn't like she even went to classes half the time anymore.

Sometimes he wondered what happened to the girl. The Mayleen now wasn't like the one he knew and loved. She had changed so much insight a short amount of time. And if their parents saw her, her change would be his fault. He was taking care of her while they were away. He sighed and rubbed his eyes. It had to be Marcus' fault. She'd changed a lot since they started dating. He was probably the cause.

Jake couldn't prove that though, and it kind of worried him that she was making the wrong decisions because of her boyfriend. He needed to find a way to get her away from him. But maybe he was just being an over protective brother. She was his only sister. He sighed again. He couldn't do anything until he finished his work, which at this rate meant he wouldn't do much ever.

He looked up as he was approached by a man and asked to step into the conference room with him. Jake nodded and stood up, "Er.. sure."

The man agreed and Jude smiled a charming smile. "Wonderful!" He clapped his hands together, pivoted on his heel and led the way. He reached the room and opened the door for his colleague, and then followed him inside, making sure to close the door behind them. He preferred his conversations to be quiet.

He approached the man and held out his hand to shake. "Afternoon. My name is Jude Barnabus Rafferty Shaw, Undersecretary to the Minister of Magic. I haven't caught your name." He paused to allow the man time to supply him with his name. "Please, have a seat." He sat himself.

"Alright, Jake," he began, now armed with the man's name. "Tell me how things are going with this department. Frankly, I'm a bit worried about it. You've gone through three Heads at an alarming rate. Ms Gould wasn't here for long; Ms Dyllan was here awhile, but her politics seem a bit dodgy to me; and Mr Weasley seems to be displeased with the department. I'd appreciate an employee's take."
