Shifting her feet around the floor, Alice nervously waited. She usually wasn't an impatient person at all, but today she just couldn't wait any longer. She barely even convinced herself of doing this in the first place! Waiting would just make things even worse. She just wanted to do it once and for all, get this over with, and worry about what happens afterwards later. After nearly chickening out and leaving the tower a few times, she decided to gaze upon the starts for distraction. Perhaps they would bring her come comfort and solitude, but they never did.
She made her letter quite clear and made sure Zandell would receive it. He knew she would be waiting for him here, precisely at eight o'clock. Of course she tried to make her letter as much 'normal' as she could to avoid sounding like a lunatic, if that was even possible. So if he received her letter and red it, why wasn't he here already? He is almost never late. Or maybe he figured out what she wanted to do and say, maybe she was too obvious. Or perhaps she was just going crazy. Yes that last thought definitely made the most sense out of everything for now.
After a few moments though, she heard a strange movement on the stairs. Her heart started beating fast and she had to grab onto the chair near to control her body movement. She had never been so nervous in her life. Which was honestly silly even. Zandell was one of her best friends, she has known him forever. This shouldn't be that weird. Well it certainly won't be easy but Alice wanted to tell him the truth. He deserves to know everything. As the door now swung open, a large grin grew upon her face as she was sure it was him now. His voice and cologne gave him away. And Alice knew him for way too long not to recognize his footsteps just outside the door.
