GENERAL APPEARANCE:

Alexander is a good looking guy, with sharp features, blonde hair and blue eyes.
The hair is usually brushed backwards, though Alex sometimes changes hairstyles. Whatever the look, Alex always strikes a balance between looking professional and elegant, but also ‘cool.’

He has a soft and lyrical voice, which sounds strangely captivating. Alex talks quite quietly, but since he doesn’t speak all to often, people usually quiet down to hear what he has to say.

PERSONALITY

GOOD TRAITS:

Cunning
Many people are intelligent, but a cunning person uses the intelligence he has to further his own ends. Alex is very skilled in subtlety and deceptiveness.

Talented
Anyone can get good at something if they practice a lot, but for some people it comes much more naturally. With Alex, he just seems to be inherently good at things like magic or music.

Good Memory
Part of the reason why Alexander is good at those things is because of his memory. He stores much more information than the regular person, often paying attention to small details others would miss. Not only that, but he finds it easy to access that information later, and therefore learns his lessons fast.

Analytical
Alexander seldoms makes wrong or stupid moves. He approaches life like a chess game, and analyzes every step and action before executing it. Because of this, it is hard to catch him off guard or outsmart him.

Calm
Alexander is a very private person, living half his life inside his own head. He cares little for what others say or think, and so he doesn’t get angry or sad from what they say. He will reply if someone insults him, and he will fight back if he gets in a duel, but never will he get angry or let his emotions get the better of him. At times though, he can get frustrated at himself if he is unable to do something.

BAD TRAITS:

Superiority Complex
Alexander see’s everything in a pessimistic view, and thus also has a highly negative opinion of people. Combine that with his huge ego and it creates one heck of a superiority complex. He thinks that bad people deserve suffering and shows now empathy towards them. In other words, his egoism about his own morality itself makes Alex an immoral person capable of cruelty.

Inattention
For someone so organized and ambitious, Alex spends a whole lot of time doing absolutely nothing. When there is a set goal in his mind, he is able to focus, like for an exam. But otherwise, there is so much to do and so many paths to take that Alex spends a lot of his time confused.

Prejudiced and Arrogant
Alex is proud of being born to a wealthy pureblood family, even if his parents are not in contact with them. He uses his ancestry as a way to feed his ego, and treats anyone who is poor or impure as filth.

[b]PERSONALITY:

From a distance, Alex can seem like quite a harmless, and even kind, individual. Every teacher’s favorite student, he’s quiet, respectful and extremely talented. Yet, his friends know that he is as extreme as they come when it comes to traditional pureblood values. He seldom shares his belief with others, as he cares very little about their beliefs, and so most people aren't sure what to make of him.

Ironically, despite his disliking of all things muggle, Alex frequently quotes verses of famous muggle poets, or performs melodies of famous muggle musicians. He sometimes shows strange repetitive and almost autistic behavior, for example; reading the same book again and again, or pondering for hours on end over a chess problem.

Alex, with his sort of mysterious personality, good enough looks and certain amount of charm, gets along well with the girls. He’s overall a moderately social and popular guy, though he also has his antisocial moments where he spends whole weekends alone in the library or locked up his dorm-room.

Early Years:

Alexander attended school with muggles on his mother’s assistance, but never fit in there, due to the strange happenings that occurred. Friendless until he went to Hogwarts, he had a rather solitary childhood. He spent most of this time reading, writing, playing piano or playing Wizard’s Chess with his father. His father though, was not usually home, so he was trapped with his mother, who he hated. His relationship with his mother was probably the reason he grew to hate muggleborns.

Hogwarts Years:

At Hogwarts, Alex did not take long to distinguish himself as a brilliant student. He made a few friends, mostly pureblood, and became reasonably popular. Still, Alex spends a lot of his time alone. He frequently breaks the rules, sneaking away at night to the library or music room.

I'm trusting that you are Sespian Solitare on The World of Tur, as that seems to be where the sample RP comes from and we don't take too kindly to plagiarism around these here parts *tucks thumbs into belt and chews on a piece of hay*

In all seriousness though, good app! Always nice to see a new RPer and you've done a good job outlining your new character. Again, I trust you not to go overboard on the whole "genius, talented" aspect of Alexander's personality, but as long as you use common sense we should be all fine. PA is a pretty relaxed website so hopefully you'll stick around.

(I especially like the more hypocritical aspects of his character, such as being a half blood blood purist. Those little things are always neat)

Now then, ACCEPTED, and sorted into...

It was many years ago (five, to be exact) that Alexander Kaverin put on the sorting at. It wasn't nervousness he was feeling, no, couldn't be, it was more...expectation. That expectation continued for several agonizingly long moments until Alexander thought that maybe nothing was going to happen at all - until an impossibly old whisper sounded in the furthest corner of his mind.

"Alexander Kaverin..." it said, it's words drifting through his thoughts like a cloud through a clear sky. "Oh you're a smart one aren't you, a clever one, a dangerous one. You could thrive if you were challenged, yes, but how should I challenge you, hm? Should I challenge your mind, your inner artist, your desire to know? Or should I challenge your wit, your inner warrior, your drive to succeed? The question is, Alexander, what would you rather be?" The voice paused then, but only for the briefest of moments. When it spoke again, Alexander thought he could hear the barest traces of a a smile on it.

"Very well then. I suppose it will be SLYTHERIN!"
