Iris Ayala Vs. Mystique MyKay

Keep in mind a few key things:

1. Bring the arena surroundings and maybe a little background into the story. The stage will be the same for everyone and feel free to manipulate it with magic.

2. Try to keep your posts to a MAXIMUM of 8 paragraphs. This is a duel, hurry and get down to work.

3. While in a duel your character will not have the time to cast hundreds of spells. For this reason, you are limited to casting a MAXIMUM of 3 spells per post.

4. Remember: Your characters are not invincible. Be realistic. Even though they will not die in this competition, let them get hurt if you feel your opponent has made a great attack.

5. Also, unless your opponent reveals themselves, you do not know one another. Keep in mind that you cannot hear their thoughts and predict their every move. You will be asked to edit your post should you act upon knowledge your character does not have.

6. Whoever is the second duelist to post MUST play off of what their opponent has established. Note: You do not have to make an attack on your opponent during every post. You can instead defend yourself and stage a greater series of events along the way.

7. Everyone will have a designated time in which to post. Do not keep you opponent waiting any longer than necessary and please try to avoid last minute posting. We want this to be as fair as possible and that will take a little work from all of us. If you are going to be unable to post please send a Private Message to Demetri Gamble so new arrangements can be made.

If you haven't already, please read the RULES to dueling. If you are unfamiliar with how to write a duel read this simple SAMPLE.

The Scene:You and your opponent have entered a small underground arena. There are trees, shrubbery as well as large and small boulders all throughout the area. A pond resides in the center of the arena and fog continuously rolls off its banks. Your peers surround the arena to watch the duel. Demetri walked to the center of the arena. "Let's begin," he said as a light flashed from his wand leaving the duelists to take over the scene.

Outfit (Mask is black}

Mystique had strutted into the arena, her mask on, covering her identity, she didn't think it would be enough considering her long red hair, nobody had her like hers, so she put it into a bun, to increase the chance of not being noticed as a death eater. Mystique was going to any limit to win, she had to win. She didn't know if she was versing a school child, or adult, and she didn't really care. When she revealed he identity at the end, she can say she beat a puny school kid, "knock on wood". She was wearing a dress, much too extravagant for her taste, but that was the good thing, anyone who knew her, would know she doesn't wear that type of thing, it was the perfect disguise. Mystique was also wearing a pair of high heels, "blasted things" she'd often say when attempting to walk in them for the first time a few hours ago, she had conquered the art of high heel walking, and was very proud with herself.

She gripped her wand, in anticipation for an attack, but she guessed she had to make the first move. She raised her wand above her head, and twirled it around, making a paper ball, the size of her head appear. She looked at the paper ball, in awe, it was a marvellous idea, and she was quite proud of it.

Mystique thought she had a good throwing arm, she triggered it back, and threw it forward. It went in slow motion, and the world seemed to freeze, she was now on one foot, the throw nearly knocking he rover. If her idea didn't work she was finished. The person, would be able to win the duel in a matter of seconds.

She regained her footing, and aimed her wand at the paper ball, which was now above the opponents head, she screamed, "Fiendfyre Minimus" to make sure she didn't blow up the arena and most importantly herself.

The paper took light, and in her opinion it was like watching the sun, although it didn't hurt her eyes, it pleasured them.

Iris was standing in the area. She had arrived first and hadn´t moved since. Dark mask was covering her face, but her long dark hair was fluttering in the wind. Demetria didn´t really cared about hiding her identity, but wearing a mask made her feel more assured. Iris didn´t know why, but it did. She wore skinny, dark jeans and long white sleeve shirt. The shirt had Ravenclaw's badge on it, but it was barely noticeable. She had appeared here from Hogsmeade.

The man walked into a dueling arena and Iris assumed it was the owner of dueling club. Girl gripped her hand, but still stood still. She breathed in. “Let's begin,” man said and sent a light flash from his wand.

Iris lightly raised her eyebrow, when she saw her opponent. Dress and heels? This woman or girl was just crazy or genius. If she´ll win Iris, then she will certainly be remembered. Iris will, this was a promise she made. Iris turned her head and looked straightly in her opponents eyes, or into black holes, because of the mask. Demetria bowed slightly to her opponent, like polite duellers did. She wasn´t going to make a first move, but she was ready. The girl raised her hand and waited for her opponent to make a move.

“NO!” Iris screamed in her mind when she heard the spell her opponent used. Fiendfyre was a Dark Curse and Iris didn´t know much about it. Aquamenti wasn´t going to work and girl didn´t know what else to do.
“Protego!” she screamed while she flung herself down on the ground. Animals and monsters shaped flames exploded arond her. Iris was happy she wasn´t dead and she breathed in the burnt hair smell. The explosion blast had hit her so hard against the ground, Iris was sure she broke her left hand. At least she didn´t get burnt. Friendfyre kills for God's sake.
All Demetria could see was a warm blood's red glow, so her head must have been hurt too.. She had only a few second to get as far away from Friendfyre as possible. Since she didn´t know how to stop The Devil's Fire, like some people said, she just had to attach her opponent really fast. She gripped her wand to make sure it's still there. It was. “One, two, three!” She counted in her head and stood up. She moaned and wiped the blood off her eyes. She knew she´ll probably collapse soon, she felt so bad.

„You want to play dirty? Let´s play dirty!“ Iris twisted her wand and used Fumos. The arena's air suddenly filled with dark grey smoke and it gave Iris good opportunity to sneak near to her opponent.

Iris stood behind big boulder and tried to do something with her bleeding forehead. She hadn´t ever been good in healing and she only managed to stop the bleeding, but the wound was too serious to get rid of it. At least, now Iris was able to see. She stepped out from behind the boulder and charmed rock into a very big wolf.

The smoke vanished and Iris saw her opponent standing about fifty feet away from her. „Oppugno!“ She said and pointed her wand at the woman. Big wolf started sprinting towards Iris' opponent and was ready to attach her. At first, Demetria was planning to use Nonverbal Magic for this spell, but she felt too weak.

Mystique smirked as the girl said "You want to play dirty? Let´s play dirty!“ and casted a spell, she was not expecting. Fumos! She hated that spell, and tried to cover her mouth as the cloud engulfed her, too late. Mystique started panting as the dark smoke, wafed into her mouth and nostrils, and she started coughing wildly. "Cow!" she yelled, at the opposition, who she figured was a girl, by her voice, she had to be a girl.

When the smoke vanished, she looked at the direction of the spell, and her opponent was gone, forfeited? A grin crept over her face, and she turned to face the crowd? (Is there a crowd?) And used her deep voice, to clearly say, "As you can see, that coward is gone, so I win?" she heard gasps but ignored, them, she then heard a quiet 'Oppungo" and her lip quivered, she turned around to see a wolf peering at her. She screamed and slowly backed away, the wolf charged at her, and only one spell came to mind, what did dogs hate, wounds? She could see some stone form the rock in the wolf, and drew back her wand, she hated to do this, "Defodio," she screamed, and half of the wolf's skin etched out of it's body, and it let out a great howl.

She turned and looked for the opponent, and supposed she was behind the stone, "Confringo" she screamed, but she was holding her wand the wrong way, and the spell was cast at herself, flipping her back 300 metres, she landed on the ground hard, and she had a gaping wound on her left shoulder blade, she screamed in agony, but eventually stood up, this was game time.

((OOC: Actually Demetria wasn´t behind the rock anymore, but it doesn´t really matter…))

Demetria heard wild coughing. Smoke did a great job. “Cow!” Iris heard a woman calling. She looked at her hands, nope, they weren´t black and white. She wasn´t a cow. The girl smiled slyly, her enemy actually gave her a good idea. She´ll wait until the smoke vanishes and when she gets a change, she´ll try to turn women into a some kind of animal. If she succeeds, she´ll be a winner. How brilliant idea was that? Now, she just had to wait and watch, how her opponent was going to handle furious giant wolf who was trying to attack her.

Finally, the black smoke was gone. Iris watched woman´s every move and was ready to block or attack spells, her enemy might send.
She couched loudly, when her enemy was talking with the audience. Stupid woman. Hopefully wolf attacks her enough to make Iris the winner.

But no, Iris saw how woman etched out wolf’s skin. Though the wolf wasn´t alive, Iris felt sad and angry. Demi was trying to squeeze her left hand into a fist and pain was killing her, but it helped Demetria keep her common sense. She didn´t want to get mad, it was all about fun, her enemy obviously didn´t share this opinion, but Iris wasn´t going to cross the lines.

When Demetria heard a woman screaming “Confrigo!”, she obviously used a shield charm to protect herself, she wouldn´t never-ever except that woman was holding her wand wrong way and got hit by her own spell. She waited to see if a woman is going to continue to duel or not. Iris didn´t want to attack her, while she was lying on the ground.

“Ducklifors," the moment Iris’ enemy stood up, Iris pointed her wand at her and said this spell. The girl wasn´t sure, whether or not the spell is going to hit her target or not, so she was ready to attack again.
