Hey guys.
Just thought I'd let you all no first, and with a nice little explanation, that I've spoken privately with Matt, and we've decided that he's going to take up the position of Leader of the Order on a permanent basis from here on in.
A few reasons on my part for not resuming my post:
- I would've felt like a dick, leaving, then returning and expecting everything to go back to how it was, ousting Matt in the process. This was more subliminal though, I could've done it very easily
- Ulterior motives. From an admin perspective, I want to see members taking over more roles of importance and responsibility, this is another step in that direction, and it's a good one. Matt will be active (or else) and he'll do a good job. I've spoken to you all about giving up the post in the past but have never had anyone in mind who'd be suitable to take over. I'm confident I'm leaving the order in good hands and that Matt can do a good job.
- Fresh air. I've felt for a long time that the Order has new directions to be taking, and that with me at the helm, it just can't turn down those paths. Whilst I know no one was ever complaining about me, and I know that no one was upset with me leading or anything like that, I just feel that you can go new and exciting places with Matt, and you can have a new perspective on things.
I love you all, so I'm not actually leaving the order, Jess still owns No. 12 Grimmauld Place, and I've asked (and Matt has agreed) that Jess take a second in command position, but in the scheme of things, and in my experience, the second in command counts for little, so don't worry, I wont be interfering with my touch of death or anything like that
Being leader of the Order has been as much a part of "Jess" as "Jess" has been to me, so it was a really tough decision on my part to make, but it's the right one - I'm quite confident of this. Good luck to you all.
