Heartbeat

That day, Alexander Jones would never forget... The day he broke his number one principal, and if he were to break that, he'd have to kill himself. But Alex wasn't that crazy, so no, he wouldn't kill himself, it had already been enough that he'd almost killed a person.

It had started as a normal day, Alex did his morning routine, go out, do parkour, come back, eat breakfast, study, if it where a week day, he'd go to class. Then go out, hang around with Sam. Go to the courtyard, breakdance and rap with a group of people. Then he would hang out some more with friends, which left only Sam, since Rhys had died. Which depressed Alex just thinking about it. But this time, instead of hanging out with a friend again, he went to the dueling Arena.

Looking around the Dueling Arena, Alex was sure he was the only one, he took out a dummy, and practicing some spells, then realized there was a girl there. "Hey." Alex said.

"Hey" she said back, skipping in a ditzy stride, she usually skipped, she knew it looked childish but she didn't care what people thought. She gleefully waved and smiled, she hadn't personally talked to him that much, just some hellos in the hall, but she knew his name, and he knew hers. She first met him at a quidditch match, she had accidentally thrown something at him, and he turned around to see who it was.

"How's it going Alex?," she said while twirling her long strands of blond hair on her finger, and blushed, she knew she had a little crush on him, but she'd never act on it, she thought she had seen Alex with many girls in his time, she'd probably just get ignored.

"So...", she said flittering her eyes, "Want some help?" she ran behind the dummy he was originally aiming at, and held it still, "Give it your best shot" she said and winked.

Alex looked as he recognized the girl, he didn't know why he did, but he did. It was Bella, and then, at that exact same moment, Alex realized where he knew that girl from.... She was famous. Oh, no wait, she was the one who threw something at the back of his head, while Alex was on his broom looking for the snitch. He'd forgiven her though, he didn't feel like making enemies, especially with a cute girl like Bella, though Alex didn't have any really kind of romantic feelings for Bella, he had some for that one girl, Teddy.

"Hey, Bella." Alex smiled at the girl, "I'm just practicing some of my chiz." Alex explained, gesturing at the dummy. Then much to Alex's surprise, she had offered help, Alex wasn't sure. "Alright." Alex shrugged, how bad could it be? Man was Alex wrong. He saw that Bella ran behind the dummy, Alex smiled, and the stunning spell at it, but really powerfully, that smoke had come out, then Alex looked around. "Bella?" Alex asked out.

She watched as he cast "Stupefy", she knew he was strong, but nothing could prepare her for this. The spells blasted through the dummy she was behind, and hit her on the right shoulder blade. She had experienced pain before, when she had fallen from her tree house, and cracked her skull on, when she stayed in the sun for two long, and experienced burns.

Her shoulder thumped with pressure and she let out a small wince, she was not going to fall apart in front of him, "Owww..." she screamed, blood trickled form her shoulder, she had broken it, and like the nurse always said, she can grow bones, but it was going to be a rough night. Bella didn't care, this was agonising, and she didn't care about her bones, "Brackium Emendo".

When used correctly this spell was supposed to mend, but she must've said the wrong spell, hot stabbing pains, entered viciously into her arms.

Alex looked around, as not only had he made a giant hole through the dummy, and destroyed some things, it was at that moment, he realized he had broken his number one rule. He hurt a woman, it wasn't sexist or anything, but still, it was morally wrong in his head, though he knew a lot of women that if he were to hurt, they'd get him back but worse. He looked at Bella on the ground, blood coming out of her shoulder, Alex needed a moment to sort out what had just happened, and why. Then after realizing he had hurt a girl, and it was his fault the girl was hurt, he ran to her aid.

"Come here." Alex said, putting his right arm, right under her knees, and his left arm, under her waist. He lifted her up, like he was carrying a baby who had just woken up, and needed to go back to sleep. He took off bolting towards the hospital wing, carrying Bella.

She turned a bright shade of magenta, while he carried her. "OMG" she mouthed. She smiled at him, despite her excruciating pain, "You're good at this" she said.

She looked at his eyes, and flashed a charming yet mysterious smile, "You have beautiful eyes" she said, noticing that's what a guy would usually say to a girl. "So... how do you know Teddy, she talks about you often?" she didn't care if she did't like him or not, she was just happy to be in his presence.

They finally reached the hospital wing, and she sighed relief, this pain would be over, she laid on the bed, while drinking the 'Skelegro' offered, and responding with "Eugh...", or "That's vile" or sometimes just wanting the pain to stop she said, "Thank you". The drink tasted so horrible, it was nearly unbearable, she looked at Alex a blushed crimson.

As Alex bolted to the hospital wing, with Bella in his arms. Alex had done this plenty of times before, carried girls off. Like in one instance during a kidnapping case, the girl who had been kidnapped, was really slow, like a snail, so he had carried her during the rest of the escape. Then he started to hear Bella mumbling things, when she complimented him on how good he was at carrying a person, Alex raised one eyebrow, "I guess. Aren't you supposed to be angry? I literally might've just broken your arm." Alex said, while running.

Then she mumbled more things, she complimented him on his eyes, Alex looked at her, Alex had already used his deduction and deduced that Bella liked him, Alex just didn't return the same feelings for her. "Er.... Uh... Thanks? You have um, pretty eyes too." Alex said, really hoping that the things Bella was saying were just because she was hurt, and wasn't thinking straight. "Uh, yeah... I know Teddy." Alex said, not knowing where the Teddy comment had come from, or how Bella even knew Teddy.

"Oh don't be silly," she said while straining, "What's the point of getting angry, iit's not going to fix my arm" she said half smiling, half wincing. "Thank you" she said, in reply to the compliment on her eyes, she smiled at him. She knew he didn't like her in a loving way, and she didn't like him in that way either, she just thought he was very nice eye candy.

"Ok, when did you meet her? I know her, she's my best friend, I find out gossip, and she pays me. It seems like a very rivalry agreement, but she loves gossip, and I like cash" she said thinking back to very good memories. "So... is being the quidditch captain tough?"
