We Meet again

It had been exactly three years since Felix Barker had abducted, torched and dumped Cecilia Krum in an alley, leaving her there for whatever was bound to find her. Of course a street bum was the first to happen upon Cecilia and decided to have his way with her, before leaving her half dead in the street, only to have a surprise when she found out she was pregnant with the homeless man’s baby. Cecilia had turned seventeen just before giving birth to a beautiful little girl who she named Molly Amy Krum.
Since that day Cecilia had been forced into a unhappy marriage with Raphel Montague, who was someone Cecilia thought of just like she had thought of her father once long ago. She did not see him as a father, and she wished she could give something better to her daughter, a real father. Today was Molly’s third birthday, and Cecilia was headed to an old friend’s house hoping to make this birthday better than the past ones.
The younge mother had desided to take her daughter out for her birthday, hopeing to make it a better one than the past. So there they were at Sparks in Diagon Alley. Cecilia sitting next to a three year old who sat in a booster seat completely intent with babbling nosence at her mother.
Cecilia wore a simple black pencil skirt with a white tee that had peacock feathers printed on it, with black and gold booties. She had accessorized with some assorted jewelry in black and gold. Her jewelry consisted of many gold necklaces that her daughter played with and her wedding ring. The one thing she wouldn’t be caught dead without just encase someone told her husband who didn’t really love her.

He couldn't believe it had been four years since he'd graduated and that he'd been teaching at Hogwarts and that he'd been working as a beast specialist at the Ministry. Everything had made him so busy that he'd forgotten about so many things. All he thought about was work and his family, like his younger sister and parents. He wanted to give them everything they wanted and needed for as long as he could. Mayleen had already begun to plan her wedding with her long term boyfriend Marcus. That was something Jake didn't have the luxury of going right now.

In fact he didn't even have a girlfriend at the moment. Or at least, not an official one. There was a girl who worked in his department that he liked though. And it was obvious she liked him back. Everyone in the department could see it, and though many had told him to ask her out, he'd never been able too. Both of them were so busy and even though they spent a lot of time together it was never for any personal reason. Besides, they thought that a relationship was too much of a distraction from work.

Now that he finally had a chance, Jake went out to lunch at Diagon Alley alone. He decided to go to Sparks, it had recently become his favorite place to eat, when he had enough time. If he didn't, he would go to the Cafe Twin Montez. Now, as he entered the restaurant, Jake noticed that it wasn't as full as it usually was and he wondered why. That place was usually packed with all sorts of people. Still, he didn't mind, it would give him time to enjoy his meal before he went back to work.

After the waitress had taken his order, he waited and looked around. His eyes stopped on a familiar face but he couldn't quite place a name to the face. And the little girl in a booster seat next to her also threw him off. He sighed and looked away from her quickly as the waitress came back with his order.

“So what do you say Molly?” Cecilia asked her daughter, “Time for desert?” Picking up the child Cecilia started up to the counter to see the types of Gelato and ice cream they had up there. When she turned around she saw a face she could never forget. “Jake, Jake Collins?” Cec asked pulling her necklace out of Molly’s tiny little hands, “Is that you?” she played with the three year old keeping her occupied for a few minutes. Though it didn’t last long, Cecilia had promised cake and ‘oucecream’ as the little girl pronounced it, and Molly wouldn’t settle for less. She really was a mini version of her mother.

For a while, Jake pushed the food on the plate around but didn't eat anything. For some reason his appetite had left him and now he was left to play around with the food on his plate. He sighed softly and pushed the plate away gently. He rubbed his eyes gently with his hands and when he heard his name, his head shot up. He was surprised to see the same girl who was sitting a few tables away from him there. He hadn't even noticed her get up.

"Er ... yes?" he asked. "It's me, I'm Jake Collins." he answered a bit unsure. She really did looked familiar to him, but something kept her name from coming up. He looked at her and at the child in her arms and scratched the back of his head softly. "Who's asking?" he said questioningly as his gaze settled on the little girl in her arms.

"Cecilia, use to be Krum," Cecilia answered though she couldn't believe he couldn't remember her. "We were in Hogwarts together and then you taught the Care of Magical Creatures Class for two years while i was there. though i had to retake seventh year because of this little one." She pushed her hair out of her face and brushed some hair out of her daughter's face. "Molly, this was Mommies friends when I still in school." she said "Can you say hi to mommies friend?" she asked making her daughter wave at the man and giggle. "So how have you been?" she asked.

"Cecilia?" he asked in a confused tone. It wasn't until he heard Krum that he remembered. "Oh! Cecilia!" he said, almost slapping himself. He looked at the two of them as Cecilia made the little girl wave at him. Jake smiled and waved back at the girl. Hearing her say 'mommy', Jake looked at her and said, "So I take it this little girl is your daughter?" he gestured toward the little girl. "I've been good. Still teaching at Hogwarts and everything." he told her. "And I guess you're married now?" he asked her softly.

"Yeah this is little Miss. Molly Krum," Cecilia said smiling at the little girl then back at Jake. "Kind of, I was forced into an arranged marriage with Raphael Montague. He doesn't really want to be in the marriage with me." She shrugged. "Oh do you want ice cream? I promised some to this little one and she's going to like explode in a few minutes if she doesn't get it soon, and she's going to get what she wants today." Jake had been the one to find her after Felix and the bum were finished with her. Then he hasn't wanted anything to do with her since, and he had clearly had forgotten all about her."

Jake smiled at the little girl and thought for a moment. "Wait, so if you're married. Wouldn't she have his last name?" he asked. "Nevermind ... It's still a pretty name for a pretty girl." he said, still smiling at the little girl. When she offered him ice cream, Jake glanced over at the glass freezer where the ice cream was held and he shook his head. "Er ... No. That's alright. I really don't have much of an appetite for anything right now." he told her. He looked at the meal that he never finished and sighed. "But, would you mind letting me buy the ice cream?" he asked her. "For your daughter ... and you if you want some." he added.

"She's not his." Cecilia said, "Three years ago when Felix abducted me and left me for dead in some alley. Before you found me someone else did. She is his." There was a hint of sadness and pain in her eyes, "No I couldn't ask you to do that. I just thought i'd offer." She faked a smile and hugged her child glad the three year old could not understand what the two were talking about. "You don't have anywhere you need to be do you? I'd love to catch up for old times sake." she asked hopeing he would say he had nowhere to be.
