Mira didn't like the way Sophia watched her, trying to read her feelings and thoughts. It made her uncomfortable and, more importantly, angry. The know-it-all tone to her voice seemed to be designed specifically to get under Mira skin. As she commented on Mira calmness Mira couldn't help but think I'll show you just how calm I can be. Already she found herself sizing up the other girl, her brain searching for weaknesses. Sophia was older, stronger, and probably better at both offensive and defensive magic. Mira had always been a powerful presence - manipulative and dangerous. Someone who could tip your will in whatever direction she wanted. Those skills gained her some respect and could often be more dangerous than any spell. But if it came to a fight Mira couldn't exactly charm her way out of Sophia cursing her.
Hexes. Mira could do that. Especially ones relating to physical appearance. Large boils, red hot skin, antlers, ever-runny noses. Distractions. Defense against the dark arts had always been her weakest class and standing here now she was really regretting it. But like always, her arrogance overlooked the poor odds and her voice maintained a level smirk. It seemed to confirm the feeling that Mira thought she was better than Sophia in every way.
"Is that a challenge, Granger?" she asked, raising her eyebrows tauntingly. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Miras subconscious chimed in. The repercussions of this could mess everything up now. What if she came home with noticeable physical damage? Or worse, Elijah could be notified by St. Mungos. She could be risking their future together by resurfacing her crazy side. But adrenaline was starting to flow into her blood and there was no stopping what was about to happen. Mira removed her wand from her purse, holding it firmly in her right hand. She stepped forward so the tip was poking into Sophia's side.
"Let's take this outside."
