’This is meant to be,’ she thought to herself with sadness appearing in her eyes. This had to be this way. Miseria realized only now that they won’t be able to stick with Mira together for much longer. After Mira and Elijah get married, they will be together. First the honeymoon somewhere far-far away in exotic place, and then they’d have children. Of course they will still talk to each other, and meet, but that’s only when Mira will have spare time. As a wife, she’ll have to take care of her husband, later her children and the house. Miseria felt how guilt flushed all over her heart and soul. She wasn’t a perfect mother. Although she was trying to give Dakota all the attention, it seemed that her own daughter saw Khaat Lupin as her real mother. It was her fault. If only she would’ve left the school so that she could be with her only child, everything would be different. She would be different. Miseria would be a normal person. She’d go to work, she wouldn’t risk with her life just to get the adrenaline rushing in her veins. Oh, how arrogant she was.
And now, when even her daughter didn’t recognize her as her mother, but mostly as older sister, Miseria felt pain when she thought that she’ll lose now Mira, too.
When she saw Mira smiling at her bad joke attempt, she felt slightly better. She put the gown away and looked at her best friend’s choise. Spongebob? She didn’t know wether Mira was talking seriously or not, but Miseria actually imagined Spongebob’s decorations all over the dress. All those puffy little dolls, stickers and even make up close to Spongebob. „Oh god, Yes!“ she gasped loudly when the picture was ready. „Let’s do this,“ she said, agreeing with Mira that the dress would look like some sort of candy cane. „You know... this wedding... it could be like a theme party. Everyone gets ridicilously dressed but you will reserve the Sponge Bob so that no one will ever dare to take this one. I’ll go as Patrick.“ Elijah could take the Sandy’s costume.
Sudden topic change made Miseria serious again and her thoughts raced back to regret and sadness. She looked at Mira. Her words would only ruin her day. Their day. She took a deep breath and forced a smile on her face. To her big surprise it was soft and happy. Like a person’s who’s really happy that their best friend is getting married. Truly happy.
„Graduation is nothing. And the fact that you’re both together again means only that you love each other. Deeply and that’s what matters. And what also matters is that You are now happy,“ she lay her hand on Mira’s shoulder, and looked seriously at her:“But remember, if Elijah ever breaks your heart or your soul, I will crush him.“ Best buddy promise she ever made. She then hugged Mira tightly:“I’m so happy for you, I truly am!“ she whispered in her ear.
