Everyone had pretty much left by now, it seemed. Jack had fallen behind since Wheezes had been needing her more and more in these summer months. She was planning on heading down to inform the security wizard that she would be staying here overnight. She planned to give herself four hours of sleep, and maybe two or three of leisure. The rest would be devoted to diligent filing- her favorite. Not. What was worse was that the next day she would be playing Wizengamot Warlock. Khaat had needed a special favor and Jack owed her one. These next few days would be hell.
She hurried across the Atrium, watching as the last few people headed for the fireplace. The security wizards were switching shifts and Jack approached the night wizard, a man she always addressed as Griz. "Hey, Griz, I'm sort of drowning upstairs. I'm going to stay all night. All right?" He nodded, taking a note of it and said, "I'll be sure to send up some floaties for you." She smirked and turned.
When she did though, she noticed a familiar figure that was near the fountain. She cocked her head and squinted her eyes, making sure it truly was the elusive being she thought it too be. When had been the last time she had seen him? Her eighteenth birthday, hadn't it been? And oh, had she been a mess. Jack glanced around to see that she had no distractions immediately and hurried up to him.
Taking her place next to Thaor at the fountain, Jack took in a deep breath and then exhaled to announce her presence. "Dramatic exits are always hard to follow up with dramatic entrances." She remembered his brief 'exit' from her life and the quiet way he had re-entered. Here was another quiet entrance.
