Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Winter Wonderland. Empty Winter Wonderland.

Post by Leven Ashe Fri Dec 02, 2011 1:39 am

The snow was falling all around Hogwarts, covering the grounds in white fluffy pillows known as Snow. Ice cold to the touch, but this didn't stop anyone from wandering the grounds and playing. the said snow was like glitter under light, with the moon slowly growing full, that's what it appeared. A winter wonderland full of glitter.

Dull blue eyes looked up into the sky, looking at the moon that was blinking behind grey clouds. This was Hogwarts, and she should feel safe. But yet, here she was, outside as the moon was growing full and full each night. A sigh escaped her naturally pink lips, able to see her breath. A crazy year was laid out before her.. and it was only the beginning.

Brian could barely feel his hands, feet, or face as he trudged back up to the castle. He had just been involved in what his friends referred to as "The Greatest Snowball Fight of All Time" and he was feeling the after effects of it. Despite the feelings of general unpleasantness, the smile could not be wiped from his face. No amount of comfort could have replaced the numb fingers and toes he was feeling right now because it had been loads of fun.

It was one of the first snows of winter and they had all woken up early to go out and play in it. Brian loved the snow and had grown up playing in it, so as soon as the snow began to fall, he was one of the first ones outdoors. He loved the cold and looked forward to winter year round. It was not just the cold he liked though, he realized it was the snow.

As he was heading back up to the castle, his eye caught someone. A girl, she seemed to be older than him, was just staring at the sky. Brian was still feeling the courage and adrenaline from earlier, so he quickly approached her from behind. He stopped just short of her and looked up at the sky, trying to figure out what she was looking at.

"You see anything awesome?" He said curiously, wondering what she was looking at.

Her eyes closed for a moment, closing out the rest of the world. She listened to the wind, to the eerie silence that was around the Castle grounds. Sure there would be some other students awake and running around. But a majority of them would be inside eating, studying, or possibly sleeping. Although, this teenager couldn't do any of those things. Too many things were running around in this mind.

The sound of crunching sound awoke her from her inner peace, causing blue eyes to open with the slight hint of fear. But of course, no one would be able to see this unless they were facing her and close to her face. Although, she wasn't aware it was a human until she heard the voice of a human, or at least, that's what she believed was human.

"The Moon. It's beautiful." The white haired teenager was speaking the truth, it was very beautiful, but to her, dangerous at the same time.

Brian made a weird face at the girl, but she probably did not see it as she was just staring at the moon. He shrugged his shoulders and he looked upward in the same direction as her, glancing at the moon. He tried to see it like her, but to him it was just the moon. He saw it almost every night since he was a child and it never changed. He did not understand what was so cool about it.

"I guess so." He mumbled and then looked back down at the girl, noticing her for the first time. Her hair stuck out to him, it almost blended in with the snow all around and it was kind of cool. He had to resist the urge to reach out and touch it, just to make sure it was not snow.

"So are you just out here to look at the moon or what?" He said, unafraid of the usual spill that just blurted out of his mouth. He was bad about just saying the first thing that popped into his head, which was never a good thing and did not always go over well with others.

The white haired teenager blinked her blue eyes before she turned slightly to look at who's been talking with her. Noticing it was a under classmate. Her clear blue eyes had to be taken away from the sight of the moon, looking at the younger boy. Her lips twitched a bit, a slight smile was on her face. It wasn't one of those that were annoyed by the blunt and snappy like comment. Instead, she understood what he was saying. No, she couldn't always stare at it. Rather not get frostbite at one point for not paying attention.

"I guess not. Any ideas for something.. ?" She murmured the very last part. Unaware of what she should actually do. It would be a good idea to go back into the Castle, get some decent food and head to bed. But something was telling her to just stay outside for a little longer. Although making sure that she wouldn't go anywhere near the forest.. not trusting the said woods area as of yet. Regardless of being at this school for quite a while.

She finally turned to face him, which made him a little less comfortable than he was when he was just staring at the back of her head. When he did not have to face her, it was easier just to sling words out without worrying about what he said. But, he was notoriously shy around girls, so when she looked at him that familiar feeling swept over him, but it went away quickly. Hitame was the only girl he thought of lately, and he guessed he did not get as nervous around women anymore.

"Ideas," He said, a slight grin forming on his face. Hogwarts was an adventureland when it wasn't snowing, but when snow was involved it was heaven. His hand twitched, starting to finally get warm again, and he started to bend down to pick up some snow. "I have a few I guess." He said, quickly scooping up a thing of snow and forming it into a snow ball before he quickly chucked it at the girl. He threw it hard enough to break, but he did not throw it that hard. It would not hurt when she was struck by it.

What would surprise a majority of other classmates that knew this teenager would be surprised about what happened. The teenager let out a squeak like sound, the type that you make when surprised, and that's exactly what happened. The snowball had connected to her lower stomach area, crushing against her layers. White snow was clinging to the front of her black jacket.

The teenager brought her hands out of the pockets that belonged to the said jacket. She was wearing fingerless gloves that were the colour grey. Touching the snow on her stomach, she seemed surprised that the kid would do that. Personally, no one really did this with her unless it was the Avalon reunion during winter.

A clear smile was on her very pale face, she bent down to the ground and grabbed a good handful of snow, making it a perfect snowball as she could and threw it at the under classmate. Not hard, but enough for it to crush on impact. "I like this idea.."

He was unsure how she was going to react at first. He stood still, looking at her with an eyebrow cocked and a leftover smile still lingering on his face. He was beginning to worry that he had acted way to impulsively and she was going to react badly. Sometimes he forgot that not everyone was as outgoing and loving in the snow as he was.

Then, he saw the smile cross her face, and he stood up straight pleased with himself. It did not last long however, as he was pelted in the face with a snowball. He felt the coldness quickly return to his face, but he ignored it. Instead of worrying about it, a huge laugh escaped his throat and he smiled brightly, bending over to pick up more snow.

"See, there is plenty to do out here!" He shouted, before he flung another snowball in her direction. This time, instead of waiting for her to throw back, he ran towards a tree, trying to use it as cover so as to not get pelted as easy. "THIS IS WARRRR!" He screamed loudly, but in a playful way.

She chuckled softly, being pelted with another snowball. Although, the teenager didn't really bother about whipping it away or anything. Instead, she couldn't help but think of the memory about the first year of the Avalon reunion during winter. It was roughly two years after the event. Snow was the only good thing about seeing family again with her cousins.

Her hands moved and created a new snowball, noticing that the younger kid had ran towards a few trees. Chuckling once again, she took off towards the area. The snow was making her skin ice to the touch, but it didn't matter. Looking between strands of white hair, and the fact that the snow was still coming down was making it a little hard in the night with the moon hiding.

Something in the back of her head was saying not to be in this area for some reason..
