Alice had a muffin in each hand, and the french horn she had found and fixed in the Room of Requirement was awkwardly shoved into her oversized bag. She walked slowly, so that the metal instrument taking up the space on her leather bag did not bounce too painfully against the back of her leg. She was careful, humming a tune happily, bobbing slightly, lost in a world of musical expectation.
She knew the route to the music room by heart, and she often left dinner early to ensure she would have time alone to compose or play or do whatever she pleased. She would go inside and eat her muffins, then continue to fiddle around with the brass instrument she had recently picked up. She had learned the fingerings and was on her way to getting better.
As she approached however, she heard the sounds of a piano. Her interest was drawn- she knew very few musicians resided within the castle's walls. Of the three she knew, she was the only one with any capabilities on the piano. She paused outside of the room, listening in, trying not to open it, but it gave beneath her pressure and it opened.
The door was quiet, though, and when it opened, the noise was inaudible beneath the sounds of the notes coming from the piano. She closed the door and leaned against it, watching the figure. Slowly, she approached the piano and the music ended, the last notes remaining in the air. "You're rather good," Alice said. "I thought I was the only pianist in Hogwarts." She paused, looking between the two muffins ing her hand. She put one on the piano. "Want a muffin?"
