It wasn't raining YET, but as Roxi reminded all of her professors and all of her friends, it could start raining at ANY time. One could NEVER be too careful. However, they all seemed to think that carrying an open umbrella everywhere, including in the castle between classes. Some of the superstitious people were terrified of her now, convinced bad luck followed her everywhere. She just liked spinning the umbrella.
She finished eating her lunch and eagerly looked about her group of friends. They were all eating at a tortoise speed and still had over half their plates to go. She made a loud sigh, rolling her eyes, but no one minded her. She heaved another sigh, smacking her lips and shooting pouty eyes around. They were ignoring her. She rose and said indignantly, “Fine! I’m going outside with my umbrella!”
“You do that,” someone muttered. She narrowed her eyes on him and said, “Yes. I will. I WILL do that. Under my-” she took in a deep breath and one of her friends said, “oh no…” “UMBRELLA! ELLA! ELLA!” She turned and skipped out, raising her umbrella over her head as students stared at the colorful blob that streaked past.
She skipped outside, singing at the top of her lungs as she usually did. She fell silent in the cold, as it was drastically colder. She shivered, her teeth chattered despite the large smile on her face. She skipped down the grass, closing her eyes as she hummed, perfectly content despite her friends’ lack of support or cooperation.
Suddenly, her zebra clad foot caught something and she was sent sprawling forward. “OOF!” She pushed herself up and brushed her hair back pulling her legs up and turning around. Her face brightened when she realized that she knew the obstacle that had tripped her. “Oh! Hi Damitrius!” She reached forward and grabbed her fallen umbrella, sitting up.
