Hitame was sad.
Just utterly sad. Her sister, Naomi, had gotten sick because she had insisted on going outside and playing in the rain the day before. It had been raining the day before, just as it did now. Naomi had a very bad cold and she even had a fever, but she refused to go to the Hospital Wing, so the nurses could help her. She prefered to stay in bed sick, rather than go to the nurses and get better. Hitame didn't get Naomi, but she smiled as she thought that she had gotten their father's stubborness. Then she frowned, thinking of her parents, and the letter they had sent her saying they were alive. She still couldn't believe, her parents could lie to their own children like that, make them believe that they were orphans for so long. Hitame had finally gotten Naomi to fall asleep after singing her the song their adoptive mother had always sung her, before she was killed.
Not wanting to do anything that could wake her sister up, Hitame slowly creeped out of the girl's dormitories and she ran down the stairs, almost tripping and falling on her way down, to the common room. She looked out the window quickly and frowned. "Stupid rain... You made Naomi sick..." she said softly but angrily. She sat down on one of the chairs near the fire, to dry her still damp hair, and she sneezed. Oh great, now all she needed was for her to get sick too. Then how was going to take care of Naomi? She was so focused on Naomi and herself being sick that she didn't notice anyone else in the common room. She sneezed again and she sighed heavily. "Ugh, stupid rain!" she said.
