A long day... a really, really long day. It was always a long day, but today had been bad. She had been forced to run and get coffee for nearly everyone in the department, and then she had gone around to every desk almost ten times that day, giving folders and picking them up. It seemed everyone had decided to work hard that day, so Selene was exhausted. She had stayed an extra shift to get some extra money, and it was getting late now, as she dragged herself into the Leaky Cauldron. It was her home now, and sometimes at night, she would work here too, which in fact she was working here tonight, just as a waitress. She needed all of the money she could get, even if it meant getting only a few hours of sleep. She worked a full time job, and a part time job, and still she had to pay for staying the night there, though technically she got an employee discount, simply because she did work there sometimes.
After a quick shower to wake herself back up, she pulled on an apron from behind the counter and started to sweep up the floors, paying special attention behind the counter as things were liable to fall there and they didn't want any bugs. It was a busy night, and Selene was working late, she was getting to know quite a few of the regulars, some of them she even recognized from her department at the Ministry. Some recognized her, and greeted her pleasantly enough, but it was nearly 11 o'clock when she took a break and pulled her bandanna from off her head, letting her blonde hair free as it fell around her shoulders and she went and sat down, still dressed in her uniform for work, and absolutely exhausted. Glancing around, she saw some people she recognized, but none she knew by name. Letting her head fall down onto the table, she sighed, and waited for the pain in her feet to subside.
