Who Knew House Elves Flew?!

"Please, sir, Glug does not like-"

"Peeves will put down Glug, sir!"

Peeves spun in a circle, the house elf he was holding spinning with him. He had turned invisible and snuck inside, before sneaking over and picking up the first elf he had seen. At first, they had all just freaked out and not understood what was going on, but eventually, Peeves could not help his cackling, and they all knew his laughter only too well.

"Peeves-"

"Elvsies, elvsies, with voices so high-
have no fear. Peeves makes you fly.
WEEEEEE!"

The elf shrieked in terror as Peeves swooped low, Glug's arms outstretching to try and bat away the figures he was sure to collide with. The onlooking elves screeched and shrunk away, ducking and diving out of harm's way, and Peeves pulled up, pulling Glug with him. He three Glug up and caught him by the wrists. Peeves hung upside down and began to pull Glug's wrists like a puppet, making him dance.

Hitame walked somewhat quietly down from the Gryffindor common room to the kitchens. She hadn't really planned on going to the kitchens, but as she walked down to the dungeons she heard some kind of ruckus, and with her nature she decided to check it out. She doubted it was anything serious, but better safe than sorry.

Hitame peeked into the kitchen and saw an elf that seemed to be dancing... She poked her head in a little further and looked around the room. It seemed the other elves were scared of what was going on and that made Hitame curious. Why would a dancing elf make them look so scared?

Hitame had no idea what was going on, and she looked at the elf that was dancing again and walked into the room quietly. She sunk down near one of the other elves making sure she was hidden from everyone but that elf. "What's going on?" she asked curiously.

The elf was struggling, though Peeves thought this only intensified his fun. However, if the elf managed to pull itself from his grip, it would fall and break it's odd little neck. Peeves did not want to be thrown out of Hogwarts, thank you, so he floated downwards, allowing the elf's feet to barely brush the tile, though his feet were scrabbling so much it was not that noticeable.

"Wherever did you get so light on your feet?" Peeves cackled.

Meanwhile, a small elf named Corky was being approached by a young girl no one else had noticed. He was shaking from head to foot with anger and fear as he turned to the girl. His voice shook with emotion, sounding strained and high as he said, "'Tis Peeves, miss, that be the cause of this tyranny! He won't release Glug though Glug hasn't done nothing, miss. Corky told Peeves to release Glug, but Peeves is foul and spit on Corky."

Hitame looked down at the elf and sighed. "Peeves..." she said softly, shaking her head. "Quite a trouble maker, correct?" she asked Corky. "That's not nice!" she said, when Corky said Peeves had spit on him. She slowly raised herself from where she had been sitting, and looked around the room once more. She looked over at Glug, and saw that he was struggling, trying to get away from something.

Ah, Peeves must be invisible. Now she totally understood why the elves were so scared of Glug dancing. It was because Peeves was making him do that. Hitame didn't like it when the elves were treated badly, just to satisfy someone's need for fun. So seeing this made her mad, and she stomped her foot angrily.

"Peeves!" she said, a little uncertainly. "Put Glug down, now!" she added trying to defend Glug as best she could. After all there wasn't much she could do, being only a small thirteen year old girl.

The little elf shook his ears, the sail-like things whipping comedically around him. "Not at all miss!"

Peeves was distracted by the sound of a small thump, and he looked up to see a girl stomp her foot. When had she entered. Ah well. More fun for him! He halted Glug and made the little thing stomp his foot too, causing Peeves to throw his head back and laugh. He rose in the air again, taking Glug with him, spining as he went up to make Glug spin.

"Oh, little kiddies,
you can be so so demanding,
I'll let him go,
but can't guaruantee a soft landing.
LOOK OUT BELOW! Three... Two... ONE!"

The elves had realized Peeves' meaning and had rushed to gather beneath Glug and Peeves tossed the fellow into the air. He fell back down and landed atop the other elves, who caught him but they all became a tangled mess of knobby limbs and squeaked retorts. Peeves howled with laughter.

Hitame eye's widened a little when she saw the little elf being thrown into the air. It seemed her feet were glued to the ground and her arms went numb at her sides. She couldn't move at all as the elf landed on top of the others that had gathered underneath Glug.

The little girl found herself moving toward the elves, bringing herself on her knees to try and help them. She tried to seperate the cluter of elves and she couldn't help but feel very angry at herself. She had only been trying to help the elf, of course. But she felt that if she hadn't said anything this mess of elves would have been avoided. Obviously she didn't know what would've happened but she felt it was her fault that they were not a tangled mess.

She looked in Peeves' direction and rose to her feet again. "That wasn't what I meant by let him go!!" she shouted at Peeves, her voice shaking from the anger she felt towards herself and Peeves. She felt her hand making it's way to her wand, but she didn't pull it out.
