Keith rubbed the sleep from his eyes and checked his watch. A quick look at the rapidly spinning hands reminded him that his watch did not in fact tell time.
He moaned. He was hungry. What time was it? "Note to self," he muttered, yawning and staggering through the doors of the great hall, "do not inhale unknown fumes from NEWT level potions project. No matter how much money is offered." He shook his head. "Note on previous not to self: unless it's over 3 galleons." He checked his wallet and found it woefully empty - the stupid 4th years had robbed him blind while he was unconscious. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. He would hunt them down later, but he'd need a secret weapon. He wasn't about to take on three 4th years with nothing more than his wand.
He sat down at the nearest table in the great hall. Barely anyone was there, but perhaps the charms were still in effect for...breakfast? Lunch? He had no clue what time it was. "Eggs," he said, his voice bouncing around the huge hall.
Nothing happened.
"Pork chops?" He asked hopefully. Still nothing. "Crisis, crisis," he muttered to himself. "Critical food failure. Starvation imminent." He could always walk to the kitchens, but that was soooo faaaaar awaaaaaay.
"Bleh," he said, laying his head down on the bench. He would go back to sleep. Better to die unconscious than awake. That was when something caught his eye.
A jar. There was a jar on the floor, down on the other end of the table. Curious, Keith rolled to the ground and crawled across the magically cleaned floor towards the jar. He peered inside. Scabs? he thought to himself, sitting and placing the jar between his legs. He popped open the jar and took a quick sniff, immediately recoiling at the smell. "Dragon pox," he said with a small nod. His sister had gotten dragon pox when she had been younger, and Keith knew the smell of the scabs.
Keith did not question why dragon pox scabs were sitting in a jar under a table in the great hall - he simply accepted. Obviously it was a sign from God - this was the perfect way to get back at the 4th years who had knocked him out and stolen his money (Keith conveniently ignored the fact that it was his own stupidity that had gotten him knocked out) "Victory!" He cried, awkwardly crawling out from under the table next to Selwyn and Alexis, still clutching the jar "Keith! Away!"
