APPEARANCE
------------------------------------------------------------
HAIR COLOR: Hair and the style of has always been an important thing for teenage girls. Athena, although not your average teenage girl by any means, is not the exception of this. She is meticulous about her hair. She does not like being told that she looks anything other than perfect and takes great offense when that occurs. To prevent those detrimental comments, Athena spends forty minutes on her hair every morning. She makes sure that when her dorm-mates wake up, she is the picture of perfection and nothing but. That image starts with her hair. The reddish-brown locks have always been curly and Athena has to spend a long time taming them in the morning. She has to put a lot of product on the curls to make sure that they are defined ringlets instead of a frizzy mess. Her obsessive hair habits has created a rather adaptable head of hair and it respond well to her tampering – certainly better than it did when Athena first started to play with it. EYE COLOR: Athena’s eyes have always been rather dim in comparison to her father’s and her step-mother’s. No one has ever pointed that out to her but she certainly makes sure that they stand out. The eyes are a peculiar colour – a mix between grey and blue but not quite one or the other. She has her mother’s eyes. The dim has always been overcome, however. Her eyes are always alight with some sort of mischief. They’re very expressive and will often tell more about her emotions than she will herself. They darken when she sees those she doesn’t consider to be her equals and have been said to ‘boil’ when she is angry. One thing that is very noticeable is her quiet passion that lies behind the guise of the perfect Pureblood daughter. That has been seen and commented upon many times and when it is commented upon, Athena returns to factory settings – stony silent and dead, expressionless eyes. HEIGHT: Athena has always been small in stature. She is all leg, standing at a miniscule 5’3, and (naturally) wears heels to throw herself up those last couple of inches to a ‘suitable’ height. BODY TYPE: Athena has a mixture between her mother and her father’s build. She has long shapely legs and arms to match but she seems to have broad shoulders that, in certain outfits, give the impression that she is weightier than she actually is. Athena has always watched her weight, determined not to be like those “filthy Muggle walking dinners”. She did go through a period in her forth year where she was determined to eat nought but fruit and vegetables – commonly known as vegetarianism – before discovering that she hated seeing all that green and returned to her balanced diet from before. As much as she loves green, she doesn’t want to see her plate covered in it. Now, Athena is at a healthy weight but has to watch what kind of clothes she wears because many outfits don’t flatter her in the right ways. She is definitely an unattainable desire for the male population of Hogwarts and she knows it. So, just to get them all hot under the collar, Athena will wear barely-there clothing whenever she gets the opportunity. VOICE: Athena’s voice is hard to find under all of her different tones. It has been suggested that she has a rather soft, feminine voice but not many see that. She is very strong and doesn’t stutter like some people do. Her voice is influenced heavily by her tone and it is usually dripping with some sort of disdain. OTHER: Athena’s style is specific. Nothing is done without a point to it. Over the years she has acquired a few tattoos but where and what remains a secret to everyone bar her bed-partners.

BOGGART: Athena is afraid of the possibility that her blood might not be completely pure. The form her Bogart take is a puddle of muddy-red blood. A well placed Riddikulus charm turns the puddle into water.PATRONUS: Athena’s greatest memory is that of her mother (or what she can remember.) The memory is vague but upon recalling it she can feel great happiness swell up within her. It is the strongest ‘happy’ memory she has and her Patronus takes the form of a Black Panther.DEMENTOR: Athena’s worst memory is from when she was a child – when she had to watch her father take the Cruciatus Curse due to ‘miss-behaving’. AMORENTIA: Sex, Blood, Smoke, Gunpowder. MIRROR OF ERISED: Athena has always believed that her father wasn’t nearly as proud of her because she was a girl. What she would see is not only a Pureblood-only world but her father telling her that he was proud of her as well as her mother – alive – and a husband waiting for her. Athena is completely aware of that fact that, that will not happen – bar the Pureblood-only world which she is in denial about – and has put those thoughts to the back of her mind as a result.PERSONALITY: Athena is a creature of darkness. She is a Pureblood princess, brought up to be the Death Eater she will become. She is meticulous and the embodiment of everything Muggleborns should fear. She is intelligent, powerful and certainly as a forked tongue among her more sadistic traits. She enjoys the suffering of others, finding it incredibly amusing, and lives to manipulate those around her. She most definitely does not like to get her hands dirty but she will quite happily cast the spells. She is very appearance orientated and takes great pride in that. It isn’t until she opens her mouth that you find that she truly is an awful person. You don’t want to get close to this one – not unless you want to feel the wrath of the Cruciatus Curse. SEE THE ABOVE FOR A MORE IN-DEPTH DISPLAY OF HER CHARACTER. THIS IS MERELY A QUICK SUMMARY.

CHARACTER HISTORY
------------------------------------------------------------
Early Years: Athena was the end result of a fling between her father and her mother just before her father got married. Nine months after the one-night-stand, her grandmother left her on the doorstep of the Goyle manor house knowing that it was there that she would be looked after. Athena’s grandmother had to care for her dying daughter and despite her efforts; Cassandra Holloway died just hours after the birth of her daughter. It was Apolline Goyle who found the child on the porch the next morning. She took her in immediately without a second thought. She’d known as a teenager that she was baron and would not be able to have children. To her surprise, her husband did not know this and married her expecting an abundance of children. Instead, what Apolline gave him was an illegitimate child and a plan. The couple introduced Athena to the wizarding world by doing a magazine cover. It was said at the time that the child had been a surprise and that they wanted to keep their daughter’s life private for as long as possible. They did however mention – to lessen the irony – that they thought it was best that she was introduced to the world that would surely become, quote, “her oyster.” The media loved that one. Those tender years when she was impressionable and learning how to walk and talk were spent at the country manor down on the South Coast of England. Her father spent most of his time in London but her mother and her aunts spent a great deal of time at the home so Athena wasn’t just left to her own devices or with House Elves watching over her. It was in those early years that she acquired her first House Elf – Collie. Collie was a gift from her aunt’s brother – her uncle. At the time, Apolline was neither impressed nor supportive of an elf being bound to a child so young but it was done anyway and there were many times that Athena nearly set Collie free while dressing her up and having tea-parties with her. Gregory was firm though. He explained to Athena that when dressing the Elf up, she was to tell Collie that she was not being set free, she was merely doing her duty. Athena learned quite quickly that everyone had their place and it was put into her head by her doting parents that her place was on top of everyone else. Athena was not sent to school like the Mudbloods or the Half-Bloods. A group of tutors were hired for her when she turned five and she spent countless hours with them in the library, talking about literature and music and philosophy. It was made apparent that she was by far the smartest Goyle that had ever cropped up and Apolline was quick to point out that she got it from her mother’s side – at the time though, Athena only assumed that Apolline was her mother. She was taught everything the tutors had to offer and towards the end of her tutelage (around nine or ten) they began to delve into the realms of practical magic. She had been taught from a young age how to control it but it was often rather temperamental because it was wild and unrefined. The tutors did their best but they accepted the fact that the only place she would ever learn how to control her magic was Hogwarts and, after admitted defeat, returned back to wherever the Goyles had gotten them from. Over the course of her childhood, Athena was betrothed three times and saw her parents look through countless suitors. As it was, they found none that would make their daughter happy and so Athena went on with her studies, paying no mind to the ever-looming thought of marriage. The Death Eaters were a big part of her upbringing; or at least the ideology was. Her parents were both members of the cult and instilled in her the same beliefs that she was better than the Mudblood and Bloodtraitor scum. Something that should have turned her against the cause was something that would materialise as her worst nightmare when she came in contact with Dementors; and that was the day her father was forced to endure the Cruciatus Curse. Upon discovering that the fault rested on a traitorous Half-Blood, something hardened in Athena’s mind – the desire to aid the Death Eaters. Her school years were sure to enable that.Hogwarts Years: Athena gained a reputation at Hogwarts faster than she did magical knowledge. She was known as the ‘White Witch’ – a little Muggle titbit that she never really took much notice of. She flounced around with her clique as if she owned the place and certainly didn’t take anyone’s rubbish. She learned how to fly with the rest of her year group in her first year. She is the first to admit that she is not as gifted in flying as most people but she does not consider that to be a problem as she prefers much more practical ways of transportation – in particular, Apparation and Floo. Nevertheless, her father still made her take flying lessons that summer. Despite the lessons Athena does not own her own personal broom. Her father has bought many but she does not consider any of them to be hers. She only enjoys Quidditch because it is a subtle way to observe the gorgeous young athletes on brooms. She does not care for the sport or the flying but she does appreciate what it can do.In the summer of her second year, Athena was given another House Elf – Brew – and she was sent to school in her third year with both Elves who were told that she was only to have the finest of foods. Since then, Athena has not once eaten food made by the school House Elves and rarely dines in the hall. She does not miss the social side of it because many of her equals will go to the kitchens with her and eat there. Athena doesn’t have friend as a rule but has a few people she considers to be even marginally worth her time. They are the lucky ones. Everyone else seems to get the brunt of her bad moods and anger and prejudice towards the Muggleborns. That prejudice has turned Athena into something of a bully. She doesn’t like to get her hands dirty but she’s perfectly content to let others do it. She likes to be the brain, not the brawn, of the operation. She’s a Goyle – she doesn’t have to be. And besides, it doesn’t hurt to have people doing her dirty work for her – and she had more than a few people. Playing on people’s desires has gotten Athena many things – Apolline taught her that. It was in the summer before her fifth year that Athena was told that Apolline was not her mother. She was understandably devastated but got over it quicker than her father had expected. She and Apolline grew closer and it was over the course of that summer that Apolline taught Athena Occlumency and a rather aggressive form of Leglimency that would attack the Occlumency shields of the other person instead of looking for weaknesses. The weaknesses would be exposed as more concentration was applied to keep her out. Athena is now quite accomplished at both; along with the Dark Arts which they also touched on but her father went into depth with, When Athena returned to school, most of her personality traits were in place, shaping her to be who she is today. Her grades in her O.W.L’s were exceptional and now she goes onto her N.E.W.T’s. Having joined the ‘Dark Followers’ Athena desires to make her mark. Only time will tell what will happen.
