Welcome to Potter’s Army

Welcome to Potter's Army

We have been a Harry Potter Roleplaying site since 2007. If you're an old member we hope you come check out the discord link provided below. And if you're looking for a new roleplaying site, well, we're a little inactive. But every once and a while nostalgia sets in and a few of our alumni members will revisit the old stomping grounds and post together. Remember to stay safe out there. And please feel free to drop a line whenever!

What’s Happening?
Since every few months or so a few of our old members get the inspiration to revisit their old stomping grounds we have decided to keep PA open as a place to revisit old threads and start new ones devoid of any serious overarching plot or setting. Take this time to start any of those really weird threads you never got to make with old friends and make them now! Just remember to come say hello in the chatbox below or in the discord. Links have been provided in the "Comings and Goings" forum as well as the welcome widget above.

Dropout Not a Dropout? Empty Dropout Not a Dropout?

Post by Clementine Lovegood Thu Feb 24, 2011 8:53 pm

So everyone knows I disappeared. And came back. And disappeared. And came back. To explain my absence (and the fact that there is nothing I hate more than giant class threads - something required to go to Hogwarts) I made Jamie drop out (because of the "baby") and live with her mother for all intents and purposes, Jen Dent. Now, clearly this is dropping out and I should now be labeled with that mean looking purple name color for only monsters and dropouts. But I don't want that. So I come to my question.

Jamie is smart. She's a Ravenclaw. Cooped up in her house with Jen would drive her crazy with nothing to do. Is it possible that Hogwarts could make an exception with Jamie and have her teach herself from home. She could come into schools to take exams or whatever but would be considered homeschooled for all purposes. She would keep her Ravenclaw label or could take the exams now and be a grad. She's smart enough to be able to pass with mostly O's.

If you don't think this could work I'll just make her be sick with dragon pocks or something for the last couple months and through her into school again now for a bit to graduate. I can handle a couple of months of classes.

Let me know what the best choice would be. Thanks!
-Jamie

Don't quote me on this but I believe circumstances would allow her to learn at home with the guidance of her guardian and/or a tutor. I shall switch you over to 'other' now, though. (:

I think I'm going to become a Hogwarts student again (mainly so I can retain Quidditch Captain :]) I'll explain the absence to sickness (dragon pox) that has been cured for a little bit but the healers wanted to play it safe. The last thing they need is her to give it to all the kids at school.

Choice is yours, and I'll lend my two cents, but this is Jack's area, so she can have the final word.

I think that you can come back if you want.

Or, I think that if jen was actually doing some sort of teaching, it would be fine, but this is an exceptional circumstance, I wouldn't want everyone wanting an exception made.

But that's just my opinion, I'll PM jack and tell her to check here, she's the Hogwarts admin.

You can come back, of course, we'll be glad to have you. And we need that Quidditch team up and running. If it ever gets to be too much, feel free to go back onto the independent study, just let us know.
